Review: On 11/5/13 My 88 yr old mother and I purchased a 7/piece sectional for $4,265.00. Due to my mother's special needs, the sectional was to be re-configured and we were told by the owner, [redacted] that it would take approx. 90 days. We agreed, applied for credit at the store, and was approved by [redacted] for a 6mth/no interest card. In January, we immediately started getting billed, and were surprised because the deposit We did not question it given that the store was in business for over 70 yrs. We paid the deposit in full. At the end of Feb/2014 when we hadn't heard anything, I contacted [redacted] and he informed us that,due to the winter weather, it would not be here for another 3 mths (end of May or beginning of June at the latest). Never once had the owner called to provide some status except when I called him after each deadline had passed. It was now the end of June and no sectional. I went to the store 3 different times; door was locked with owner's telephone number on window. I called 3x left 3 messages; still no reponse and NO merchandise. It has now been 8 months. I called [redacted] to report that we paid $2,100.00 toward purchase. I was advised that owner had NO authority to charge card until customer received item. They have launched since launched an investigation. It is now July 11th....still NO response, NO sectional,and NO response from owner after repeated efforts. I then contacted the sales person with whom I initially dealt when we made the purchase. She is no longer working there and has filed her own complaint against owner for other reasons. I believe that this owner has defrauded us and should be further investigated.Desired Settlement: Due to the undue stress and frustration that this has caused both myself and my mother, I think it only fair that we be not only given a refund for the deposit, but that we be compensated for the full cost of the sectional....$4,265.00. [redacted] should be investigated for possible fraud and unethical practices.
