Review: A. L. Fence Co. installed a 3 rail, split rail fence in our back yard. However, they did not tamp, or concrete the posts into the ground. They did come back to tamp the posts, however, they failed to tamp all four sides. Instead, they only tamped on the outside edges of the fence. One post had been split and they agreed to replace it but when they did, they screwed the post into our vinyl siding without seeking permission. Additionally, A. L. Fence Co. charged the final installment of the agreed upon price to our credit card without our consent. When they charged the final installment, the posts had still not been tamped and they did not give us time to come home and inspect the work prior to their charge. The owner of A. L. Fence Co. was not cooperative when we called to have the fence posts tamped. He insisted that if it was not to our liking that we should tamp ourselves. After another phone call, they did come back to tamp, however they were not forthcoming with any information. For example, we had to call their main office and speak with a secretary to find out that we had been talking to the owner the whole time. Also, we had to look on their website for their company address because the owner refused to give us this information after politely voicing our concerns with the quality of the work performed and explaining that we merely wanted to send them photos of the damaged siding.Desired Settlement: We would like the damaged siding replaced by a certified building contractor that has experience with vinyl siding with all expenses paid by A. L. Fence Co. of [redacted].

Review: Messy unprofessional work done, dried cement was all over my driveway at the gate entrance. Gate of fence would not close properly because posts was not supported properly, very wobbly, had to lift gate with handle that I put on at my own extra expenense, myself. I did call A.L. Fence and they did come to fix my complaints but actually did nothing to fix the problems with the fence. I had the same problems after they left. Owner did not to care after he was paid! Fence coming apart at end post, I fixed this myself. I had to repair the gate myself. Terrible company would never business again with and I advise others not to also!Desired Settlement: Just bad work that was done. Nobody should do business with this company! I would not them on my property again!

I am rejecting this response because: A.L. Fence have already been back to my house to supposedly fix my complaints about the poor work on the installation of the fence, especially the gate. But after they left I still had the sames problems. All I want is to alert other people to be aware of the poor work A.L. Fence does. And decrease there rating as a company with the Revdex.com. I wouldn't want A.L. Fence to come back to my house again! I hired another fence company to do the repairs and I also did a repair at my own extra expense, which I should't of had to do. Again, I just want to alert people of to think twice before doing business with A.L. Fence even if the price quote is a little less then other fence installers. I have a whole backyard that I will be installing more fence but I will not be calling A.L. Fence.

A.L. Fence has already been back to my house to supposedly fix my complaints about the poor work on the installation of the fence, especially the gate. But after they left I still had the sames problems. The vinyl fence post where the gate is attached to should have been more supported by adding a 4X4 pre-treated piece of wood and pouring cement into the hollow post. This would support the over 6' high post from wobbling so much so the gate would close properly. Also, I had to put handles on the gate at my own extra expense. I requested handles from A.L. Fence but never received them. All I want is to alert other people to be aware of the poor work A.L. Fence does. And decrease there rating as a company with the Revdex.com. I wouldn't want A.L. Fence to come back to my house again! My neighbor and I did the repairs on the gate by putting an Anti Sag Gate cable on and put some L brackets on the end post so the fence would not come apart and all at my own extra expense and labor, which I should't of had to do. Again, I just want to alert people of to think twice before doing business with A.L. Fence even if the price quote is a little less then other fence installers. I have a whole backyard that I will be installing more fence but I will not be calling A.L. Fence.

My total cost for added materials was approximately $45.00. And also the inconvenience and labor that I had to go through. I paid A.L. Fence Co. $2,526.00 of hard earned money to do a complete good quality job, this is not what I got.
