AL Recovery Reviews (1)

Review: On 2.5.15 I picked up my personal belonging from A.L. Recovery in [redacted]. The woman at the front desk, [redacted], was extremely unprofessional. She was very short in tone when asking if I had an appointment. I explained that the gentleman I spoke to on the phone (I did not have his name) the day before never told me that I didn't needed an appointment. He told me I could come in Monday-Friday from 9-3. She did not respond, instead she walked away. Upon coming back, I asked if I would be able to view my personal belongings to make sure everything was there prior to paying. She said, "You're going to have to wait because I'm busy right now." When my belongings where finally brought out, my reading glasses and laptop desk were both broken. When I inquired where my wallet with my photo ID and debit card was, I was told it "should" be in the bag; it was not in the bag and was never found. Another gentleman came out and said that all valuable items are to be locked in a safe. Furthermore, I had a different debit card, [redacted] sunglasses, a small amount of cash and loose change and a power converter for an electrical outlet all thrown in a trash bag. Not one of my valuable items were in their safe.. When I questioned why my valuables were not in the safe, [redacted] replied, "Well, you had it in your center console", then [redacted] proceeding with an unprofessional attitude with contradicting statements. The gentleman that was in charge of collecting my belongings finally arrived. At this point three employees are now telling me that they never have these problems, that my belongings were taken care of all while cussing and searching through my things for my missing wallet. The gave me an inventory list of my belonging that were thrown in the trash bag; this list was inaccurate. There were multiple items in the trash bag not listed on their inventory sheet. Their response was "oh well".I explained that I would be contacting authorities due to the damage of my glasses, lap top desk, and walletDesired Settlement: I would like my $30 fee refunded for retrieving my items refunded,as well as compensation for my damaged items.

Response:

She was told that an appointment was needed she spoke to me first. I told her due to the high volume at the office she just needed to call while she was on her way so we could be ready for her. She did show up at a very busy time without a call first. Her personals were in a black bag as well as anything of value was in our safe. We handed her the bag first then a small bag that came from our safe. She said she was looking for a [redacted] debit card, we handed her 2 that were in the car, she said oh I did not even know those were there I am looking for another one. The deal was in fact broken, it was found in the trunk broken so it was returned the same way it was found, we did not break it. We did every thing we could we even brought her car back out to her so she could look through it herself to see if we missed anything, at that time she did find a gift card under the front seat that we missed, she did not find anything else she missed. The report she speaks of is a list of things of value over $5.00 that are listed. We can not list every little thing on this report, so yes so things are not listed but they are added to the personal bag. This is a process that we use on every car, we bring in over 200 cars per month and this is the first person to claim that something is missing. She is upset that the bank took her car and wants to blame someone other than herself. I was there the entire time, I listened to the way the conversation went with both my office manager and my agent who came back just to try and help. The process from our side was very professional, she was very upset that she could not get her car back and really pushed my team with verbal comments they stayed professional during the entire process.
