Al & Riley's Air Conditioning And Sheet Metal Reviews (6)

I cannot say enough about Al & Riley’s A/C and their service technician, Santiago. My A/C failed late on 6/27/19 (109 degree day). The next morning I called and was given an appointment time between 1 and 5 pm. Santiago showed up early at about noon. He asked what the symptoms were and I explained that I had replaced the capacitor (two prior A/C failures, both here and in CA were due to a failed capacitor and I had learned how to replace one by watching the last time), but the fan still would not start. Everything else seemed to be fine. I told him I thought the fan motor had likely failed. I was prepared for about a $400 repair bill…ugh! After a couple of easy tests, Santiago said the fan motor was fine. He showed me how to easily test the fan motor in the future. After checking a couple of connections he moved one wire and magically the fan started running again. It was not a wire I had touched during my capacitor replacement. He moved it from where it had been connected and connected it directly to the new capacitor. My A/C had been working fine since the last replacement done by a different company, but Santiago said it should have been put directly on the capacitor. The place it had been connected to, was corroded, apparently causing the problem. Wow! From a $400 motor replacement to a $70 service call…I was happy. But wait; there’s more! Santiago said I still had time left on my 1 hour service call so he tested the rest of my outdoor A/C equipment. Then he said there was enough time left to check the air handler in the attic. I said that wasn’t necessary, but he was insistent, saying he had time left and it was part of his company’s protocol to make sure everything was okay. This was the first time I’d had an A/C person in my attic since the house was built in 2006. The last company that charged $250 to replace my capacitor in 2014 didn’t bother. I was naturally a bit leery about what he might find, but he reported that everything in the attic seemed good. That brought me additional peace of mind. I can’t tell you how satisfied I am with the service I received. I know who I will call in the future for A/C repairs; and in a few years when the time comes, to replace my whole unit.

I have done business with Al & Riley's for at least 10 years and have a general maintenance agreement with them. I recently had two new A/C and heating units installed by them at my home. They did an outstanding job and have always done outstanding work. All the techs who have come to my home are always very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, dependable, and honest. I could not be more happy with Al & Riley's and highly recommend them. The office staff, especially [redacted], are the greatest!

I am writing to express my opinion of a local merchant in my community that I am sorry that I have not used before. In my job, I am a Loss Control Specialist for the Insurance Industry. It is my job to evaluate commercial businesses for the insurance industry. I have been a resident in Casa Grande since 2008 and have had an air conditioning service contract with another company since 2009. But because of issues with that company, I decided to search for another company locally. I first went looking for a company who is authorized to work on my make of unit. Next I looked if there were any issues with the company in AZ Revdex.com or even if they were associated with Revdex.com. I found that ** & [redacted]'s was local and that they had a couple of minor issues and decided to call. I explained that I needed a tune-up and that I knew there was a small leak in the unit's system and inquired into the price per pound for the refrigerant. I was happy with the quote and decided to make an appointment. To my surprise, I was able to schedule an appointment for the same day. 2 technicians showed up and I immediately realized that one was in training and the other was the mentor. I explained what I knew about my unit and the mentor ([redacted]) stated that he would check it out. After a quick check, he informed me how many pounds I needed (Unit hadn't been serviced in over 2 years.) and I agreed to the service. He also explained that he thought he knew where the leak was and how he could possibly fix it. That being said, the work was done to my satisfaction and both technicians left. Because of the service contract I have, I realize that I had been paying twice the cost for refrigerant from the other contractor and paying for the service call and refrigerant was not a big deal and at least I did not have to wait a week for the other company to send a technician. (And they, the contracted company, always try to sell you other things while on this service call.) I am pleased that I called this local company and will have them service my unit again in the future. I do not care about continuing my contract with the other company.

About a month ago, my wife and I were going out of state for a short vacation and the day before departure our air conditioner stopped working. We left and while in Massachusetts I called and set up an appointment the day of our return. A techncian arrived at about noon on Monday and told us the compressor had shorted out. Since we had a service call about a year earlier and were told, after the replacement of a starting soleniod, that the 13 year old unit my have future problems, it wasn't a total surprise. After the technician left I received a call from the manager giving me my options. I could replace just the compressor, the whole outside unit or the entire system. He gave me the costs and warranties of each option. Considering those,we opted to replace the entire system. The manager said that since they don't stock that item it may take a couple of days to pick up the unit in Phoenix. I agreed to the delay. I got a call about an hour later and was told that their boss happened to up in Phoenix picking up a unit for another customer, so he was able to get mine as well. The next day, Tuesday, a whole crew showed up at our home and in approximately 3 hours we had air conditioning. Since the forecast called for temperatures in the 100's, it was welcome relief.

I would like to say that I would recommend Al & Riley's to anyone within their service area.

The service technicians were professional and competent, the estimate was exactly what was billed. A few days later we received all literature and warranty information.

I couldn't be happier.
