This company falsely informs their patients that the FDA requires urine screens monthly to be allowed to prescribe a specific type of medication. I have researched and found that is incorrect, the requirement is that screens be done every 3 months. They are requiring this of the patients and billing insurances or requiring cash out of pocket for those with no insurance or if non-covered. BCBS has changed that they only allow these screens 4 times per year, which follows FDA guidelines. But this office is now requiring those screens monthly to continue to be performed and paid out of pocket by the patient directly to the business or the patient will not be allowed to be seen and receive their medication.
Additionally, for a year's time my medication was covered at 100% by BCBS. However, FDA rules changed that allowed a specific amount per day of medication to be dispensed without a Prior Authorization. This office advised me they were filing Prior Authorizations for me, and advised me that my insurance would only pay for 2 of this medication per day. This caused me to pay out of pocket for my 3rd of 3 per day. In reality, the office was neglecting to file the prior authorizations each month as I was advised were being done, and the medication would actually have been covered at 100% each month at no cost to myself. This cost me hundreds of dollars per month and put me in a great financial hardship.
