Aladdin Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc. Reviews (3)

They "fixed" my AC, less than a week after I experienced the same issueCalled to try and resolve it, however the manager stated his employee did not do anything wrong and I was to blameI asked to have another person come by and check my AC but he refused to send anybody His attitude was poor and did not address my concernsWill never hire again

I would like to thank Aladdin for their service! As usual, the office staff and the technician were courteous and did a great jobThank you for your timely response to my request! I am thrilled! We’re looking forward to a continuing relationship through your maintenance programThank you Aladdin

Review: Aladdin has refused to provide a more detailed invoice that includes the labor, parts and item costs. Used erroneous analysis plus bait and switch tactics (declared a Condenser unit failed and on RECALL with free Carrier replacement of the Bristol compressor unit or $1000 Carrier Corp credit toward an equivalent Carrier replacement Condenser Unit and therefore no need to repair because new unit will have a 10 year warranty). However, Aladdin totally misdiagnosed the failure and then installed an inferior SEER 13 model Payne 13 replacement condenser unit in place of my old Carrier SEER 17 model 38TDB060300 condenser unit at exorbitant costs and with a new statement that a $1000 RECALL rebate did not apply. Charged for a unnecessary replacement (part plus installation) of the 220 VAC quick disconnect switch with fuses, that was not defective and is not required per Thousand Oaks City Codes. Unit was actually not installed by Aladdin since they indicated it would require stucco work, but unit was handed to homeowner stating I had already paid for it! This is also a fraudulent and faulty sale. Faulty and fraudulent troubleshooting practices (Thermostat, compress. Declared a wireless thermostat/receiver combination for system #2 as faulty, when it was NOT. Installed a non code compliant replacement wireless thermostat system in a totally dangerous and code non-compliant manner and seriously overcharged for the fraudulent repair. The thermostat system installed had a master thermostat unit in the attic and a slave thermostat within the HVAC zone being serviced! (Aladdin has since admitted this egregious error and refunded the full $630.70 repair plus $14 thermostat shipping costs.) The homeowner simply removed the new Aladdin thermostats and reinstalled the old Venstar thermostat and receiver units that still work fine. The old thermostat/receiver combination is the only Venstar approved thermostat system for my applicationand is fully UBC and city code compliant. The Venstar units installed by Aladdin were NOT designed for that application and could have caused the HVAC unit to go out of control. Charged exorbitantly high prices for all replacement parts with 3 to 4 times markup plus laborwhen compared. Faulty mounting of preventive maintenance replacement capacitor on system#3 putting over stress on capacitor, which will certainly lead to early failure of this capacitor.Desired Settlement: Refund $3712 for code noncompliant Payne 13 condenser unit and installation labor plus other costs. In addition deliver to 1524 [redacted] a new proper code compliant and equivalent quality Carrier Model 24ANB7600030 SEER 17 condenser unit, equivalent to old Carrier 38TDB060300 SEER 17 condenser unit. This is the same unit Carrier uses for replacement under the original 10 year warranty. The homeowner and another licensed A/C contractor will perform switch-out labor installation and order appropriate city inspections. Carrier Unit plus invoice and manufacturer warranty shall be included with new unit. Refund all costs for quick disconnect switch , Homeowner will return un-necessary Diversitech Model DDS-60 Pull-Out Disconnect Switch and FLNR 50 ampere fuses, which was never installed by Aladdin and simply handed to homeowner (actually quick disconnect costs are included in previous item 1). Faulty compressor failure analysis (costs included in previous item 1). Return all funds for single wireless thermostat (Aladdin has completed this $630.74 full refund.) Terminate and refund balance of Aladdin Semi-annual Service contract ($182.50. Refund $ for faulty installation of capacitor and labor on system #2 ($185.54 + $95.00). Total refund amount still due homeowner is - $3712.00 (Payne 13) + $182.50 Aladdin Service) +$280.54 (Turbo 200x) = $4175.04 plus deliver a brand new Carrier 24ANB760Axxx SEER 17 unit to 1524 Windy Mountain Ave. and pay the costs of another contractor installing and checkout of the 24ANB7 unit. Payne 13 will be made available to Aladdin for pickup.
