Response to complaint -- Our optical representative checked to see what optical benefits the patient had through her insuranceWhen we check benefits for her particular insurance they only tell us what the "benefits are for her plan"It is
the patient's responsibility to know if they have already used any of their benefitSo at that time we went with what we were told by her insurance coand collected the $when she picked up her glassesOnce we received notification from the insurance company of the denial of payment we billed the patient for the balance dueThe patient also would have received notice from her insurance company showing the denied payment of serviceIn regards to the patient asking to return glasses we couldn't take the glasses back since the custom made lenses are made for herThe patient would have received bills and after this she would have received a letter stating she had days to pay the debt in full before we would turn it over to the collection agencyThe above guidelines were followed with the patientWe will be glad to notify the collection agency once payment has been made in full to Alamance Eye Center and as a courtesy have this removed from her credit reportPatient can contact our Collection Deptat Alamance Eye
