Risk Manager [redacted]
had a very lengthy conversation with this customer addressing all of their
concerns outlined in this complaint. The customer was satisfied with my
resolution of closing the claim and the follow up I ensured would occur with
the DRU, our internal team, and notification...

via letter from me confirming
claim closure. He did state he would close his Revdex.com complaint.
Thank
you,

I rented a car for one day to drive from Madison, WI, to Ann Arbor, MI. At the time of the rental, I specifically asked about when and how to return the vehicle. I was told that I need to return the car 'anytime the following day.' I asked again about this -- anytime the next day -- and was told yes, anytime before the Ann Arbor rental branch closed the next day. I then remarked to the rental agent that this would be nice since I had been on a long business trip and could take time the next day to rest after arriving in Ann Arbor. My friend who was traveling with me witnessed this conversation.

When I returned the car late the next afternoon, I was initially informed I would be billed an extra day. I explained the situation to the Ann Arbor rental agent and he told me they would not bill me, but that I should follow up with the Madison branch. I did this the following day and was told they would not bill me either.

When I later reviewed my monthly credit card charges, I found that I had indeed been billed an additional $160.21. I called the National Rental Car branch in Madison back and spoke with [redacted], and, finally, the assistant manager [redacted]. I explained the situation and was eventually told by [redacted] that he would not be adjusting the bill.

I have contested the charges with my credit card company and am filing this complaint in a further effort to resolve the issue.

I rented a car from Alamo Car Rental in [redacted] at the airport. All went fine for the rental. Returned the car in the same condition from when I picked it up - actually better. My daughter in law always washes rental equipment prior to return to make sure there are no issues. None of us identified any problems. No one from Alamo checked the car upon return to the lot. No indication of any issues. No call or communication from Alamo of any problems until 3 days after returning the car. I received a letter communication stating that I had 2 days to have the car evaluated and get two quotes. I sent my son to check within 2 days so that we could take pictures and see for ourselves what this claim was about but upon inquiring at the counter the car was gone. Apparently the car was sent to Oconto but it certainly NOT available for evaluation or obtaining any quotes to address a "Scuff under the bumper." I then received a claim for $921 from PurCo with a big list of repair work supposedly needed to fix the "scuff". I have never seen any evidence of any damage. No photos of the supposed damage were provided by anyone. And when we went to evaluate it, the vehicle was "gone" and not available. Per Alamo?s own letter I am supposed to have 2 days to evaluate the damage. Such a total scam from what I thought was a reputable national company. $921 for an unsubstantiated "scuff" on a bumper. The rental car company certainly did not take care to fix the prior damage but apparently finds it imperative to fix a scuff under a bumper without providing any proof of the damage to the vehicle.
