I am writing in response to the letter we received regarding complaint ID [redacted]. The customer who wrote the complaint is not the original customer who brought the car in for service. [redacted] bought the car in question from [redacted]. [redacted] is the original customer. [redacted]...

brought the car in to our station on 7/11 for an inspection and an oil leak. There was oil all over the Canister filter housing and we told him we could put a new one on and see if that fixed the leak. There were no leaks present after a test drive and the car passed the Maryland State Inspection. (Please see the attached documentation) Our manager, Gregg, spoke with [redacted] a few days after and [redacted] said that the car sat in his driveway for approximately 4 days and there were no leaks. [redacted] then sold the car to [redacted].Approximately 4 days after purchasing the car from [redacted], [redacted] called [redacted] to say there was an oil leak. [redacted] told [redacted] to bring the car into our station and talk to Gregg. [redacted] brought the car in and the leak looked like it was coming from the back of the engine, which was not obvious the first time we saw the car. We informed [redacted] that he should take the car to a Volkswagen dealer to have it looked at since they are more knowledgeable about Volkswagen engines.If there is any more information that you need, please call Gregg at [redacted].Sincerely, Michael *.
