Good Afternoon,
Not sure if I need to respond somewhere else or if this is sufficient. I will try to include as many details as possible. Most of [redacted]'s statements are not accurate. She called me on the 31rst of May and asked if we...

worked on garbage disposals. I said yes. She asked how quickly I could get someone there. I said either that afternoon or the next morning. She Said okay. She called later that day and said to make sure and document how the renters broke it so they wouldn't complain when she sent them the bill. The next day my commercial plumbing truck finished a job in that area so I told them to go check out the disposal. When they arrived nothing was wrong with the disposal. The kitchen sink had the spout broken off and the sprayer missing. The sewer was backed up underground. They called me and I told them to call [redacted] and explain what was wrong. She did not answer so they left to get the snake. She called them back and asked how much a kitchen faucet was and they replied no more than $125. She asked if the $65 dollar diagnostic fee was included in the work and was told no. She also said in an email that she was quoted $62. I have never charged $62 or $65 an hour nor have I ever charged a diagnostic fee. It is obvious that she called several plumbers and she never asked for a price just for availability. She complained what plumber goes to a job without a snake. I have 3 trucks and a van. Two hand held snakes and only one mainline snake. I'm not sure what kind of a plumber would take a snake to a job to fix a disposal. Unfortunately we can only be prepared for a job when we know what the problem is. She made a complaint about the helper if I was too obese, which is ridiculous. My employees picked up the snake and a faucet and made the repairs. One guy disconnected the faucet and began replacing it while the other employee was snaking the sewer. When she complained about the helper I told her I would take off the helper but it would be a 2 hour charge for a plumber plus the flat rate for the snake. That was not satisfactory and started going on about how long it should have taken, how long she went to college and that she was some type of phycologist or something and she started making rude comments and sending emails. I am in business to make money not to rip people off. I am not a mind reader. If someone asks for an estimate I give it to them. If someone asks how much we charge I tell them. If someone asks how soon I can get the job done we try and respond. Her multiple emails contradict her own complaint to the Revdex.com and Contractors State License Board. If she was concerned about the price she should of asked for our rates and a written estimate. I feel that she is being very dishonest and rude. If she wants to be a plumber she can decide how long it should take and how many guys to send, but for my company that is my job.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2016/07/05) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This is the first I have been told the problem was in the main sewer line. That expense would have been covered by the Homeowner's Association and not the owner of the unit. I was left with the impression that the clogged drain was caused by the tenant.
I was never given a time or date when Laird Plumbing was going to the tenant's unit. I was surprised when the technician called from the unit. There was never any discussion that this was a two person job. My tenant said the workmen were in and out of the unit in less than one hour. Changing a faucet is a one person job and cleaning out a drain is a one person job.
Out of town owners of rental units become prey to greedy contractors as we have to address the tenant's problem quickly.
I am still waiting for a receipt for the faucet as promised. It this was a clogged sewer line I need a written description and a diagram of this issue (where the clog occurred) so I can pursue reimbursement from the HOA. If this is true I should have been told it was the main sewer line at the time. Recovering this expense at a later date is going to be difficult.
I fix and flip houses and I know how long certain jobs take. I also trust what my tenant tells me. This was an easy fix and did not require two people. I was scammed.
