Have not received refund of prepurchased services, as agreed upon by owner. My wife showed up for cut and color appointment with owner on 3/14/14; owner was 20 mintues late. Offered no acknowledgement of timing, apology, or effort to reschedule. After we considered the insolent treatment from owner, we decided not to return for any further services. We therefore called [redacted] to request refund for the three unused "cut & color" packages. [redacted]'s response over phone was a plethora of outrage, including false statement such as (1)[redacted] had multiple cancellations, and (2) [redacted] was routinely late for appointments. He stated the refund was unwarranted because his prices were already low enough and because [redacted] had not sent him any client referrals. [redacted] initially refused to honor refund until [redacted] "grew some" and called him herself. [redacted] left a voice mail later in the day stating he would agree refund two of the three packages; reason for refusal of the third was not given. He specifically wanted our credit card number sent to him by text. I called back and verbally gave our card number to receptionist. Have not received phone call back from business, nor any refund to account.Desired SettlementRefund of unused service packages:$59.00 purchased 01/30/2014$66.00 purchased 02/22/2014Bureau Comment 2014-03-27[redacted] called and said that the business called and said that they would refund money, but could take up to 30 days. Closing the case as resolved and if refund is not received consumer will contact the Revdex.com.2014-04-24Consumer has not received refund promised by business

Additional charges/services were added on without my knowledge. I purchased a [redacted] that was advertised for a full haircut, blow dry, and partial highlights, for $49 at Primp Salon. I made an appointment for March 5th, 2014. At the beginning of my appointment I made it clear to my stylist ([redacted]) that I had purchased this [redacted]. My stylist then asked me before she began if I wanted her to do the roots of my hair as well for a small additional charge. I agreed. The stylist proceeded with my roots and also, without obtaining further approval, decided to upgrade me to a full set of highlights as well. I was unaware that this had happened until I went to check out and pay for what I thought was going to only be a small additional charge for my roots. The cashier told me that after my [redacted] my remaining balance was $150. I was shocked. I asked for an explanation and they told me that my roots were an additional $60 and that I was upgraded to full highlights which was an additional $90. I paid and tipped my stylist as I thought [redacted] did a great job on my hair, however, I was very unhappy with the unexpected charges at the end and left feeling as if I had just been unfairly charged for services that I never agreed to having. I left very unhappy and immediately sent the owner an email letting him know of my concern and asking that he refund me for the services that I did not agree to and that were never discussed with my stylist. He called me on my cell phone and made it clear that this was my fault for not making sure that I was asking my stylist what she was doing so that I was aware of further charges that I would accrue. He was very unwilling to hear me out and only continued to place the blame on me. A few days later after I had disputed the charges on my credit card, I emailed him to let him know what to expect in that regard and that I was going to review his salon on [redacted] for the poor customer service that I received. He responded again in a very negative manner now accusing me of fraud and stealing. I also wanted to know why I was charged a full price for full highlights if it was an "upgrade" from the service I was already getting. He did not provide an explanation for this. He also continued to tell me how his company only receives $20 from [redacted]. Why should I care about how much his company makes off of a promotion that he obviously agreed to post, and I paid $49 for? I feel as though I was treated unfairly as I was not made aware of further charges I was accruing and only expected to know and understand what services my stylist was performing. I was treated with extremely poor customer service when trying to resolve this situation. I was faced with confrontation and accusations that were malicious and professionally inappropriate. Desired SettlementI am seeking a $90 refund for the upgrade to full highlights, a service that I never once agreed to and was not communicated to me by my stylist. I went into this salon under the impression that I had already paid for my services through [redacted] and that I was not going to have to come out of pocket for any additional charges. The stylist and I communicated about the additional charge for my roots, which I agreed, but why did she not communicate with me about upgrading to a full highlights session? I should not be held responsible for charges that I never asked for nor agreed to. Business Response [redacted] came into salon for a partial highlight color cut and style. She had purchased a [redacted] for $49 that had a value of $125. When she came into salon sheRequested to have her Services upgraded. She ask for a Full highlight, color retouch, haircut and glaze. We advised at the front and by her stylist we will honor the[redacted] voucher for the value of $125 and she would have to pay difference. She had all the services done and then paid for additional services that day. She was fully aware of all upgrades. Prices are listed online, in salon, and was told. She was treated fairly and as she stated in email she liked her hair. I'm sorry she feels she was over charged. My question was why wasn't anything discussed in salon. She paid with credit card and then left. Final Consumer Response The statement from the salon is false. I never agreed to a full highlights, color retouch, or glaze (whatever that is). My stylist should confirm that when I arrived I told her that I had a [redacted] and she asked me if I wanted to include my roots, I agreed. No further discussions were had regarding any further "add-ons" or "upgrades". When I went to pay I was confused at why my bill was so high and I asked the cashier to explain. At that time she told me that I had upgraded to full highlights which I knew I had not. Yes, I paid and left, but immediately contacted the salon owner to explain what had just happened. He called me back and was immediately on the defense. I was given nothing but resistance and basically told that it was my fault for not knowing what services my stylist was providing. I don't know how many times I can say that I honestly did NOT agree to any upgrades, but it's apparent that my voice will not be heard.

Misleading advertising through [redacted]Problem Date: 8-14-2015Purchase Date: 8-2-2015 via credit cardPayment Amount: $49.00Primp Salon Bar is running an advertising [redacted] titled "Haircut, Style and Partial Highlights" for $49.00. I purchased this [redacted] and called the business to schedule an appointment. The man anwsering the phone indicated that this [redacted] can not be used if you are an "existing client". However, the rules listed in the [redacted] do not mention or stipulate this. This is false or misleading advertising. Desired SettlementI would like a refund for the $49 that I paid which I am not sure I can get through [redacted].Business owner needs to revise or remove their misleading [redacted] ad.This business is listed under 2 separate names - Primp Salon Bar and Alan Scott Mae Salon.Business Response If you purchased a [redacted] you can receive a refund from [redacted]. Our advertisements are not misleading it is $49 for service. There is also an addtl charge for hair that touches shoulders are below. All rules are in fine print. Not all stylist honor [redacted]. Also as far as listed under two places, we have two salons. Alan Scott Mae and Primp Salonbar. If you are an avid [redacted] buyer in the future make sure you read fine print. Also it's a shame we have to make all the stipulations on our [redacted], but some people rather than actually looking for a new stylist, they abuse [redacted]s. They jump from salon to salon using them all the time, just to get cheap service. Unfortunately stylist can't afford to continue to cater to those clients, so everyone has had to become very strict with their advertisements with [redacted]. Thanks hope this helps Consumer Response It was nowhere in the fine print that the [redacted] was for new clients only (or restricted to specific hairstylists). Also, it is very difficult to get a refund from [redacted], especially if the purchase was beyond 2 weeks - please READ the fine print in their refund policy. BUYER BEWARE of this salon and their misleading advertising.Final Business Response [redacted], also why buy this [redacted] at a different location than your stylist is located? The stylist you wanted is downtown. Different address and salon name. So not sure why you thought your stylist would honor. Sorry it didn't workout but nothing was misleading or misrepresented. Unfortunately you can't always make everyone happy, even though we try our best.

My hair dresser did not do the entire Brazilian Blowout and did not perform well on the parts she did do.I had a Brazilian Blowout done on May 27, 2015 at the location of 4325 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612 since the location at 401 N West St, Raleigh, NC 27603 was closed for that weekend. All of the clients for downtown Raleigh, NC went to the Crabtree Valley Mall, NC for that weekend and it was busy. While the hair dresser was doing my hair, she asked another coworker for a straightening or smoothing serum and the coworker said they were out. The hair dresser also did my Brazilian Blowout in only 30 minutes. Once the hair dresser finished, she told me that she "put too much product on my roots so it will be sticky" and not to wash my hair for three days. It's been less than three days and I had to wash my hair because of the grease in my hair, the sticky Brazilian product, and dry shampoo built up was awful. Also, after I washed my hair it was curlier than it was before I even had the Brazilian Blowout service performed. This was my second time getting a Brazilian Blowout. The first time I had it done in downtown Raleigh, NC and it was straight for a month! The hair dresser definitely didn't add whatever serum they said they were out of, around the clients, out loud. The service performed felt rushed, due to the extra clients. Brazilian Blowouts are expensive as well, I feel like I did not get the quality that I paid for.Desired SettlementI would settle for another Brazilian Blowout of better quality or a refund.

I purchased an online deal for 49.00 dollars, and this service ended up costing 109.00 plus tip. The owner is abusing this service with new customersBefore deciding to try a new salon I saw advertised on [redacted], I called to talk to them. I specifically mentioned the [redacted], and I feel like that would have been the appropriate time to tell me additional charges that can be added to the service. Instead, I scheduled the appointment and once I was in the stylist chair I was told there would be an additional charge because my hair was long. I said that I understood and was used to that, but my intentions were to cut the bulk of my hair off, to above shoulder length. The stylist said she would cut the bulk piece prior to the coloring to reduce my charge. This is still a poor practice on the salon's part - neither the customer nor salon benefits from coloring hair that you know will be cut off afterward. Either way I said okay, and she began to work on my hair. When it was complete I was pretty happy with my hair, although I did find several little pieces that were cut uneven the following day (the stylist curled my hair under to hide this at the time). Checking out, the owner is the one who handled my billing. He phrased my total as follows "your total with your [redacted] is 60 dollars". The deal I purchased was for 49 dollars and the additional length charge that was unnecessary made sense to be a 11 dollar charge so I handed him my card, tipped and left. The following day I saw the charges as listed as separate amounts and emailed the salon (as they are closed on sundays and I could not call or go in person). The owner emailed me back saying that I was not over charged, and kept saying how I was saving money because they have competitive pricing. I was irritated that his response was so nonchalant and he kept saying how I saved money. I wanted to save money, and in no way shape or form did I save money. Throughout our email conversation I told him how I felt I was lied to since the stylist said she would cut it off and reduce my charge, he never responded to that complaint. His exact words to me were that "we tell you ahead of time so you can have the option of using the [redacted]", and when I said that I was not told ahead of time he chose not to respond to that either. I told him I had to cut two pieces of my hair that were left visibly uneven, and he did not respond to that. Ultimately, this is an abuse of the online deal. He is luring in new customers and finding ways to upcharge them so the Salon makes up for the difference in the deal rate. He should not be allowed to use this service in any way shape or form. I have talked with [redacted] and they were at least apologetic and issued me a small credit to use with their site. The business wasn't just bad for the customer, it was bad for [redacted] too. I don't expect his attitude to be any different than it was, I have asked around and found many of my friends actually know him and have the same opinion of him. Desired SettlementI already requested a refund or partial reimbursement from the owner and was repeatedly denied without any found reasoning.Business Response [redacted] purchased a [redacted] Deal for $49. We make sure it is printed on any voucher we sell that there is a length charge. We tell the customer on the phone when they ask about the charge and we tell tell before the service is done, so they have a choice whether to have service or not. Nothing is misleading or withheld from the client. We do appreciate [redacted]'s business but why have the service done after you are explained everything up front, pay, and then email a complaint. If there was a problem, why wasn't it discussed before she had her hair done. We would have told her how to get a Refund and she wouldn't have paid any additional. Consumers need to realize [redacted] is an advertising tool that is used to bring in new clients not to just give them a cheap service or save money. Also anyone who has had their hair colored on a regular basis understands even with her paying length charge a total or $109 is very cheap for a color and cut. Especially for long hair.

I purchased 5 keratin / brazilian hair treatments on account. When I showed up for my appoitment, they stated I had none left. Still have 2.Primp sent me e-mails with special deals. I purchased 2 keratin / Brazilian treatments for $99 on Sep. 17, 2014 with my [redacted]. Have my credit card stmt and copy of the primp e-mail. Again primp sent me an e-mail in in Nov for 2 keratin / Brazilain treatments for $99. I purchased using the same [redacted] on Nov. 12, 2014. On April 20, 2015 I purchased a keratin for $99. I received a keratin in Nov., a brazilian on Feb. 28, and another Brazilian on April 17. I used 3 but had 5 on account leaving 2. I had an appointment on July 4, 2015. When I showed up they stated that I had used all of my credits. The owner, [redacted], was on the phone and told me he would research on Tuesday, July 7 but I could not receive the servie that day. I sent him an e-mail with all of my information and copies of the e-mails on Tues, July 7th. I have yet to hear from him. I feel like the salon owes me $500 the cost of 2 treatments based on their standard pricing or needs to perform 2 treatments. At a minimum the salon owes me my purchase price of $150.Desired SettlementThe value of my purchase reimbursed to me or 2 keratin treatments.
