In response to the complaint against Krone & Bushard received on 5/23/I would like to respond as follows: I received the application via our online web based management systemIn a routine procedure I initially call the applicant to let him/her know their application has been received and
also to ask any question such as desired move in date etc…In this case the applicant failed to list employment information or submit proof of employment or previous landlord contact info, the application was not complete so it was very important that I contact the applicant and was unsuccessful after several attemptsSince I was unable to make the initial contact with her I decided to call the reference that she listed as her mother and current residence, I did make contact with a person listed as a reference and mother of the applicant and I informed the mother that I was attempting to reach the applicant regarding her applicationI did not hear from the applicant and moved forward with another qualified applicant as this property was move in ready and it is not our policy to take a property off the market without an approved, completed application and depositIn receiving this complaint from Revdex.com I tried to look through previous emails as the applicant says she attempted to email our office as wellI was unsuccessful in finding any messages or emails from applicantIt is not our intent or regular practice to take application fees from interested prospects and as a representative of Krone and Bushard I can assure you that several attempts to contact applicant were madeIn addition, if she could provide the emails that were sent to me in April I would most definitely consider returning her application fees should the email provide detail to any lack of communication on my partThank you, *** ***/Office Manager Krone & Bushard

Review: In searching for an apartment, I came across their website. On March 30, 2015, I filled out 2 applications- 1 for myself, 1 for my husband ([redacted])- for an apartment in Imperial Beach, CA or whatever else was available. I paid the application fee for both, which was $35 each ($70 total). I received a receipt for both saying I would see a charge from "AF*Krone & Bushard, I." on my statement. I never heard from them again. They have not answered my phone calls or emails and the apartment is still listed as available- clearly to sucker other people in- almost 2 months later.Desired Settlement: All I want is my $70 back. Clearly they are just collecting money from people with no intention of providing anything in return. I don't have money to give out to random people running fake websites. I have both confirmation numbers and/or statement proof of payment as well as the emails confirming payment.

Response:

In response to the complaint against Krone & Bushard received on 5/23/2015 I would like to respond as follows: I received the application via our online web based management system. In a routine procedure I initially call the applicant to let him/her know their application has been received and also to ask any question such as desired move in date etc…In this case the applicant failed to list employment information or submit proof of employment or previous landlord contact info, the application was not complete so it was very important that I contact the applicant and was unsuccessful after several attempts. Since I was unable to make the initial contact with her I decided to call the reference that she listed as her mother and current residence, I did make contact with a person listed as a reference and mother of the applicant and I informed the mother that I was attempting to reach the applicant regarding her application. I did not hear from the applicant and moved forward with another qualified applicant as this property was move in ready and it is not our policy to take a property off the market without an approved, completed application and deposit. In receiving this complaint from Revdex.com I tried to look through previous emails as the applicant says she attempted to email our office as well. I was unsuccessful in finding any messages or emails from applicant. It is not our intent or regular practice to take application fees from interested prospects and as a representative of Krone and Bushard I can assure you that several attempts to contact applicant were made. In addition, if she could provide the emails that were sent to me in April I would most definitely consider returning her application fees should the email provide detail to any lack of communication on my part. Thank you, [redacted]/Office Manager Krone & Bushard

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am absolutely disgusted with the lies listed in the response. 1. You cannot skip required fields on an application. It simply would not go thru. I entered all of my info accurately. There is no employment info because I am disabled (as stated on application) and after filling out both applications and paying, I IMMEDIATELY sent an email letting them know that the 2 applications they just received were for a married couple (different last names), and that I would be willing to pay up to a years rent in advance because money is not an issue.2. After I sent it VIA THE WEBSITE, I received nothing back. NOTHING. The only contact ever made was the emailed receipts. Why didn't they email me to inquire about the "incomplete application?"3. If my application was incomplete, why was my money not refunded immediately? You can't run a background check without information.4. They claimed they called my mother/reference. I have lived with my mom since I moved back to CA over a year ago. She is my grandmother's caretaker. My grandmother is bedridden. My mother is home literally around the clock. I am disabled. I am home literally around the clock. Our rooms are a couple feet from each other. As I received this response and read it aloud, she was disgusted. You cannot lie and say you called someone if both parties live together. 5. Emailing this company via the website does not provide proof. There are no copies because it is not done from a personal account. They are very well aware that they received my email. They don't respond to emails. Only payments to issue you a receipt. Proof? I sent 2 applications, paid, received 2 receipts. Before contacting the Revdex.com, I saw the apartment was still available (allegedly). I was being ignored and asked my mother to send them an email from her account asking if the place was available. They never responded. Had she just paid the application fee, I'm sure her emailed receipt would've been provided.Listen, I don't know of anyone that goes around to different sites looking for apartments, paying application fees and ignoring the people they're paying. Giving out my personal bank info. $70 might not seem like a big deal but imagine if I paid every fee for every application I came across and just ignored the people I'm paying or provided incomplete info. These people are liars and I refuse to accept anything except my money.
