Alaska Horse Adventures, LLC Reviews (1)

***,
You brought your daughter to ride with us (AHA - Alaska Horse Adventures) throughout the summer of In the fall, you insisted on paying $1,for future rides for the following year, stating that you had school money you needed to use I finally agreed, telling you that we
normally didn't do things that way and people normally paid by the ride, or by the month That was sometime around the end of July After that, your daughter only did more rides In November, you started asking me how much credit you still had with our businessI wasn't exactly sure, but told you I could check...and asked if you remembered You said you didn't know for sure either After brief texts back and forth, over the next couple months, you called and left a message in April I didn't get back right away with you, and later that week we talked...you told me that you wanted the money back I told you we didn't just have the money to give you back...and that I'd give you back $plus rides for the remaining amount (we had agreed in the texts that it was $1350)You ended by telling me that you would take $a month After the call, you sent a text with your address and telling me what you expected me to do I felt very uncomfortable with you demanding the money back suddenly, and being very persistent about it I then remembered that you had mentioned it being school money, and how you had pressured me to allow you to pay in advance I decided not to respond to your text...as I wanted some time to figure out what was going on Within a couple hours you had sent me a very demanding/rude email, demanding to be paid, or threatening to report us to Revdex.comThe next day you repeatedly called my phoneI did not answer because I wanted any communication to be in writing Finally you called with a blocked number, and I answered..and told you that I would email youYou continued to call me the rest of the day (like times) I responded by email, that I was not comfortable giving you a refund right then, until I knew what was going on The next morning you responded with a very ugly letter, full of information, and claims that your daughter did not enjoy her rides with us...and threatening to make trouble for our company My last response to you, was that if you had so much trouble and your daughter didn't like the rides, why did you pay so much money for future rides
Since then, I have been in contact with *** *** (the school program you got money from for the horse back rides) They told me that I did not owe you the money backIf we owe anyone money, it is *** ***...and we are very willing to pay them backWe are still in communication with them, and waiting for some more documentation from them
So, the bottom line is this: You got $from *** to pay for future rides for your daughter She did more rides after you paid, and then stopped You then waited a few months, and then tried to figure out how much credit (money) we still owed you Then, you have demanded us to pay you back in full So, it seems pretty obvious that you used school money allotted for your daughter's horseback rides, and now want the majority back in cash, to put in your own pocket(I could even assume (from the way it looks in retrospect) that it almost seems like you set this whole situation up just to get the school money back in cash to put in your own pocket.) I would call that illegal, fraudulent, and totally unethical.
At this point, it is very clear and obvious that we do not owe you any money, and that I have not wronged you in any way I end up giving full refunds to clients all the time...often even the day of their ride

Wow! That's interestingIf my service is so terrible, why did you (after the end of the season and a lot of individual rides) cut me a check for $for future services?
Also, you never paid for "lessons"...we don't offer lessons...we do trail ridesPeople pay for a ride and come and ride
We never took *** out on a ride alone, it's company policy we have a two person minimum.
I am not afraid of giving a refund, like I said I need to look into all of my paperwork receipts etcand I'll get back with you towards the end of next week,

MrJoshua H***,
This letter is your final notice of my amiable attempts to collect the $1,refund due us since Your past behavior is not acceptable nor the actions of a reputable businesspersonA mutually agreeable payment plan can still be implemented if you act immediately
Just to recap the situation, my 11-year-old daughter *** was taking horseback riding with Alaska Horse Adventures last summer At the same time, my 4-year-old daughter *** was taking lessons from *** * *** *** *** was very disappointed that she had to continue with Alaska Horse Adventures LLC*** said, “Mom, MrJosh does not teach meHe is on his cell phone for the whole ride.” She went on to say you seldom do talk to her, or tell her the differences from English riding and Western styleApparently you prefer for your students just rideI still encouraged her to continueThe staff of *** * *** *** is more professional and talks to the children and employ excellent adolescence teaching principles for instructionThey brush the horse, clean them, ride them, and talk to their teacherIt is a much more rewarding experienceAs a mother, I felt I was getting a fair return on my investment from *** * *** ***We paid out of pocket for such training and did not get the funding from our school
I have shown *** all your texts and email*** said, “Mom, I don’t want to take lessons with MrJosh, but he has kids and he is poorI will run down the hill and take lessons.” In spite of your behavior, she would put up with you
Your customer service is deplorableWhen we try to call to schedule, it sometimes takes a week before you return our phone callsAs a recent an example, this past Thursday I called three times and not once did you returned the phone call to resolve this issue
I had the same intolerable experience from March 2015 to April 2016. When we arrived for the actual lessons, examples of was poor planning were abundantWe would receive five minutes’ notice to minutes warning*** would have to run dangerously down the hill to make itOne time you only had her as the only student because the Boys and Girls Club canceled without prior noticeThe entire ride you complained how you are losing money by giving *** her rideShe talked about that sad, disappointing day for hoursThese experiences at my daughter young age have a lifelong impactComplaining about issues best left between adults in the company of an impressionable young girl is not an acceptable action between an adult instructor and a young female studentThis type of improper action by even a tenured public school instructor protected by the teacher’s union would not escape retribution
In years of teaching my children, I have paid out of pocket for piano, horseback riding, art, martial art, and violin lessons because the school would take too long to pay our teachersMy personality is to be kind and respectfulYou have misinterpreted my mild and pleasant demeanor as a weaknessYour mistake in judgment will soon be painfully apparent to you
If you and your company are in financial trouble, let’s work together to resolve our issuesI contacted *** *** from *** to ask for helpThe school could not assist because we paid you out of pocketIt is a small price to pay for homeschooling our children
If you do not refund our unused balance, then the burden of your unprofessional business practices will be your financial cross to bearConsider this your notice of my intent to pursue all legal means available to recover the balance of $1,plus late fees, interest, and outside collection fees totaling $2,Save your struggling company embarrassment, money, and reputation by refunding our $1,

***,
I don't feel comfortable with giving you any refund right nowAt the end of the season last summer, you insisted on writing me a check for $for horseback rides, sleigh rides, lessons for ***, and your family etcin the future I told you that is not how we normally do business and that you cannot expect a refundHowever you insisted that you needed to spend the moneysomething to do with school.
So, I will wait to hear from the Revdex.com, as I have done nothing wrong I won't give a refund until I'm sure there is not illegal action going on.
Sincerely,
Joshua H***
