Alaska Investigations Group Reviews (%countItem)

I initially contacted this company to locate an RV in either Texas or Louisiana. I provided them with a 3-page cover letter explaining the situation, gave them names, addresses, and phone numbers. In addition, I provided them with legal documentation authorizing me to hire their company. All of my communications were done via text messages and occasionally the telephone. To date I have given them $9,000 and approximately two weeks ago they requested an additional $10,000. At that point I requested an accounting of what they had spent to date and basically their answer was no. They didn't feel they needed to provide an invoice. The $9,000 to date was a flat fee amount and/or job cost for the services they had performed. I have never met Robert or Leslie R, never received a receipt for my payments or an accounting. The address located on the agreement form as well as the internet indicates they are located at ***. I was informed by Leslie that they were not at that address and she ignored my inquiry as to where they are located. When they requested a second payment from me, they indicated it would be $4,000, however, my credit card was charged for $5,000. When asked they said it was a miscommunication. I have only talked with Leslie and her process has changed several times. She seems to talk in circles and from what I can tell she has basically lied about what has been done. I have never talked with Robert R who is the individual I was contracted with. From all indications, this company is a fraud and would have continued to take money from me with no guarantee of results. Leslie is verbally abusive as well as lacks the skills to be handling matters involved in the return of my RV. My decision to use them initially was based solely on their website. At this point I am uncertain how much of what they claim is true. I would stay 100% away from these individuals.

In this business, it is VERY hard to make people happy...Sometimes; even when they have a reason to be happy. Below is a prime example:

There are many peculiar and ironic aspects to this complaint that may take the focus off of us more and place it back on this client. There is a documented trail of success that this particular client cares not to see nor understand (after attempting to explain MULTIPLE times) while fixated on making us look bad while we literally try to help her at the same time. Badmouthing us while we have legitimate results (that we did not have before the case began) should be a cause for celebration; not a Revdex.com complaint or the specific fake outrage fraud claims after signing an agreement and making two payments. This client literally wants us investigated because we did our job (I can't make this up). We do not work for free; so yes we ask for money prior to big jobs. If we were such a fraud then how would you explain the 6 years of consistent business with 49 5 star online reviews? The client signed an agreement and not only paid us once, but paid us TWICE! This client knew EXACTLY what was happening every single solitary time a card was charged; because we always present our proposals and negotiate with the client PRIOR TO transactions. There is never a surprise. We asked - she said yes. Plain and simple. No body forced this client to do anything with us. Then, amidst all of this phony outrage; we actually found the RV in Dallas, Texas! We just don't know specifically where it is located. This part is why the next phase of this investigation would be more much more difficult than not; there is an unknown terrain with an unknown start/end date if we were to continue on a recovery operation. An interstate RV recovery with multiple vendors would be a costly operation.

Once investigating the prime subject, nothing much returned. Then this case got difficult from the start. Robert had to start investigating with the subjects associates (friends, relatives, etc). That was not easy nor as it time consuming and that admittedly took a lot of Roberts time to think around this issue. After all of the research in the beginning; he found a possible hit in Louisiana (a friend of the subject). We coordinated with Louisiana investigators to physically follow up on a lead that we didn't have much of a guarantee with, but that's all we had to work with at that time. After all background attempts were exhausted on the subject; we tried to physically investigate this lead; but no success while we tried to physically locate the RV. The subject's friend had a large property in the woods in LA and we thought that would be a very likely location for the RV to be located. We then resorted to alternative research methods immediately and started to aggressively comb random listings for any possible thing that resembled the missing RV. Then after a lot more time of researching; we had discovered that the RV was in Texas (this was like pulling a needle in a haystack). We felt admittedly excited that all of this time had produced this particular result. The next phase of the investigation would be an interstate recovery operation with more than 2 people operating at a time, hiring multiple vendors, crossing state lines, possible law enforcement involvement; possible angry outbursts; etc with no end/start time and still no guarantee on a smooth operation or successful acquirement... A lof of time and resources would have to be dedicated into an operation of this magnitude if we were to launch a recovery operation. This is not cheap nor are we free.

Before calling people frauds (while they help you and while you pay them more than once) please look at the agreements you sign with them. Our agreement is very clear and very specific.

Despite all of this arbitrary and capricious fraud talk; we actually enjoyed this job. We feel that the time spent was all for not. We actually performed by locating the RV. It would just be very expensive to recover this considering the risk, time and care that would have to go into an actual RV recovery thousands of miles away. This client would probably have the RV back by now if she wasn't so focused on throwing dirt on those who are helping her.

I am rejecting this response because: The business is absolutely correct in that I did give them two payments totaling $9,000. This decision was based solely on their website which I'm not certain is even valid. I chose them based on their website information and most especially their address. Recently I learned that their address shown on their documents and website is not correct. And my request for their correct address was ignored. Of course, I received no receipt for either payment. I know that not everyone will send a credit card receipt, however, they would most likely offer you one. They absolutely did not keep me informed and Leslie admitted that to me. Her reason for that was that she knew I wanted things to happen as quickly as possible. I have copies of all of our text messages if you might need them for review. In addition, when she initially asked for the third payment of $10,000, it was suggested to me that before I committed to this payment I should get an accounting of how funds were spent to date. I don't think that is an unreasonable request. I told her that once I received that I could make a more informative decision. She did her very best to explain mostly talking in circles, however, I felt as though she should take time to prepare something for my piece of mind if for nothing else. Later that evening, she must have spoken to her husband (maybe her ex-husband) and they felt that they had done a lot on my case, especially finding the RV, which they only know because they called the owner. They really didn't give me much information that I didn't already know...For the 9,000 I could have had someone call the owner and inquire about seeing the RV. She talks in circles and continues to repeat plans each time they ask for money. Its possible that Robert is quite qualified, however, I have never spoken to him. Leslie is the one who relays the information and I don't really think she is that informed. There is a lot that transpired during our text messages and a couple of phone calls that makes it difficult to put into words. I know that they scammed me out of the money. We probably wouldn't be at this point if they would have run their business in a more professional manner.

incerely

The client requested an accounting after getting upset with our secretary in an adversarial way. The client had originally accused us (of course a liar/fraud), then immaturely complained to Revdex.com because for an accounting of which she had already been provided on 2 occasions. The client exploded on us with accusations, then demanded a random accounting (we had already given her 2 by this point). Every single time she paid, she was given a presentation on our plan of action with negotiation. There was never meant to be a surprise (until now of course). We want this harassment to cease and desist.

P.S. The client also made 2 payments (not just 1)... This is why we are saying we had already provided her with accounting (we do this before any cc sales are processed). We are confused that she wants an accounting after she had approved what we had already provided her; which in this case was strong enough results to prompt a literal rehire.

Long story short: She paid us once to search for leads. We found one in Louisiana. She paid us a second time because she was confident enough with us to verify the lead we had found in Louisiana. We found the RV generally located in Dallas, Texas. We shared this information with her (we did not withhold this). In our business: This is pure unadulterated success.

Then out of the sky the client blitzed my secretary with sudden/capricious accounting demands; then continued on that we were nothing more than frauds/liars (after we had provided her with information she didn't have in the beginning). Plus, we did not have the sufficient time to accurately do any thing with the small demanding time-frame that we were given.

Plus, her impatience had caused her to bad mouth us first, then after accusing us and badmouthing; she demanded that we give her what we had already provided her.

Badmouthing is something we do not tolerate and is grounds for us to withdrawal; which we have exercised our right in doing in this case. We see no sense in getting dragged through the mud because the client is unable to understand our value. We produced successful results. Even if she hires us or not to recover the RV in Dallas, Texas, she can still use an alternative company to recover the RV. Again, we had provided her this information so she can seek this alternative.

The Value: She knows where the RV is generally located. She knows now what leads are bad and what leads are good. That's tremendous value that she refuses to account for herself while badmouthing those who did the housework to get her to this position.

4 people worked on this case. 3 investigators and 1 coordinator. It was a big job that was on its way to working; but upon our recovery quote; she got upset, then here we are.

It's clear that this client did not read the contract and I think it may be embarrassing for her to continue this complaint.

- Thank you

Robert

I am rejecting this response because: Mr. R has grossly exaggerated my communications with Leslie R. I did not explode. My impatience did not cause me to bad mouth anyone. In addition, I never put any demands or time constraints on Leslie. All I asked for was an accounting of the $9,000. I don't deny that I was very frustrated but I was never abusive. I had questions and I wanted an accounting once we reached the third request for money. It was Mr. R who decided that it wasn't necessary to provide me with any breakdown of expenses. This was Leslie's response from Robert: "Robert seems to think we have done a lot of work and we found the RV. Something that would not have been done otherwise. With that being said we have a lot of complicated unforeseen hoops we are going to have to jump through coming up to include we have 6 people on your case. The money that has already been paid is basically investigative fees for research surveillance any extra backgrounds, social media's, google searches, phone conversations, etc. at the end of the day we found out where your RV was located."

Unfortunately, Mr. R is going by what Leslie had to tell him with regards to our telephone conversations. I have read the text messages that I had with Leslie and there is conflicting information between text messages. I also know what Leslie told me during the couple of telephone calls we had.

I am not embarrassed about my complaint to the Revdex.com. I stand by what I have written in previous messages. I don't think I am being immature with my requests. I myself have approximately 23 years of experience working in Accounting / Billing for two separate law firms. I dealt with high dollar amounts held in a Trust Account. As money was deducted from those accounts, we would always provided a breakdown of charges to the client if requested. For those charges that were paid to vendors, we would attach a copy of the statement of those charges with exception of postage, photocopying, etc. (in-house charges).

I did review the contract that I signed and as I stated before there was several instances where it was noted about receiving an invoice. That is all I wanted for Leslie to provide for me was an accounting of the $9,000. I was not disrespectful when I asked and again the problem didn't begin until Mr. R made the decision that I didn't deserve a breakdown of expenses. The remarks that he claims I said were said since I started my complaint with the Revdex.com. I did try to explain why I needed the breakdown, they became defensive not me.

Again, I have all of the text messages printed out that will prove what I am claiming. Leslie R was the one who became explosive and disrespectful. Even after being called a smart as, rded, delusional, etc. I never exploded. I stated the facts and I will continue to stand by my statements.

I find it interesting that this company has fought me for almost a month on providing me with what I clearly deserve. It makes no sense to me. Even if they are swamped with work, they have had nearly a month to provide this statement. But instead of using the time constructively, they continue to defend reasons why they don't need too. I find that odd and this is what leads me to believe that they haven't done all they claim to have done.

It doesn't appear as though we are getting anywhere close to resolving this complaint. This going back and forth is only wasting time for the Revdex.com. If you would like the text messages I have, I am happy to send you copies. But to continue like this is ridiculous to say the least.

Thank you
