Alaska Luggage & Seafood Shipping Reviews (3)

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
Though I am thankful for this company's time spent searching for the lost package, I am not accepting this as a resolution to the complaint I assert that the package was put inside the post office drop box with the invoice attached per instructions posted near the post office mail box I therefor hold this company responsible for the lost / stolen package
Sincerely,*** ***

Response to Revdex.com Customer Comment: The consumer has provided additional comments;
Mr*** stated in his complaint that he filled out the self-service invoice, attached it to the flat-rate envelope provided, and dropped it into the Alaska Luggage & Seafood Shipping LLC (ALSS) “after hours mail dropbox” on the evening of November 23, As we ALSS, stated in our response, we were closed Thursday and Friday November 24thand 25thfor the Thanksgiving HolidayTo clarify in more detail, we emptied the dropbox on Saturday, November 26, 2016, and it was emptyOn Sunday, November 27, 2016, there were (3) three packages in the dropbox that were processedOn Monday, November 28, 2016, there was (1) one package in the dropbox that was processed. We have tracking numbers and receipts for each of the packages processed (see tracking numbers listed below, which can be tracked at usps.com/tracking)
11/27/USPS Flat-Rate Envelope ***
11/27/USPS Flat-Rate Envelope ***
11/27/USPS Flat-Rate Envelope ***
11/28/USPS Flat-Rate Envelope ***
However, Mr***’s name did not appear on any of the packages retrieved from our “after hours mail dropbox”If an item is left in our “after hours mail dropbox” it is processed the next business dayUnless the billing information is missing, incorrect, illegible, or the credit card declined, and if it declined we would contact the customer to correct the situation. But again, we do not have any record of Mr***’s package
Mr*** goes as far as to assume that his package was misplaced (staff and myself searched extensively) or stolen Mr*** did submit a copy of an invoice with his name on itBe that as it may those forms are located for all persons to useWe are not in the business of stealing items left in our “after hours mail dropbox”, and we are appalled at the implicationI, myself asked Mr*** if any charges appeared on his credit card, he responded, “no”Please be advised that ALSS staff do not seal these envelopes, envelops are sealed by the customers themselves ALSS is unaware of any makers, or value of said propertiesHowever, if Mr*** believes that his item was stolen, by all means he should file a police report with the police department and submit to this office
We are at a loss as to what actually happened that day on November 23, during the time Mr*** claims that his item was placed in our drop box. Like, I stated above we have found nothing that indicates said property was place into our drop boxWe wish that we could help further but our hands are tied unless Mr*** is able to bring something that substantiates his claim
Sincerely,
ALSS

Response:
We “Alaska Luggage & Seafood Shipping” were closed Thursday and Friday November 24th and 25th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  The customer explained that he deposited the item on the evening of November 23, 2016 in the after-hours mailbox drop. The customer did call. I stated that...

I would look into the situation. Yes, it did take me some time to get back with the customer because of the various shifts that employees worked. I did make contact with my staff to inquire about this package. Once I received your inquiry I immediately contacted the customer to explain that my staff and I searched high and low to no avail. There is no record of receipt from this customer.
I spoke to Mr. [redacted] on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 to inform him that I was in receipt of the email from the Revdex.com. I then apologized for not getting back to him in a timely manner! I asked him to send me a copy of the invoice he filled out to ensure it wasn’t something as simple as not being able to read his handwriting. Upon reviewing his invoice we doubled our efforts again to see if we overlooked the original invoice. To date, we are not able to locate the original invoice nor did we find it in the drop box. However, I communicated to Mr. [redacted] that we found another entry into the system to a Mr. [redacted] but it was shipped to Fairbanks in October.  His response was that could have been his father.
I cannot say what happen to Mr. [redacted]’s package, but it did not get into our “After Hours Mailbox”.
