I purchased and returned a $299 light box from Alaska Northern Lights. I waited for a confirmation email that they'd received the returned light, but after a long wait I called the company on Thursday, 11/21. I was told that the light box had been received and an authorization had been sent to Paypal to refund me the cost, minus return shipping. The woman said that there might be some delay on Paypal's part, which confused me as Paypal always posts "money received" immediately. All this morning, 11/26, I tried to call Alaska Northern Lights but got only a voice message, so I called Paypal instead. Paypal said that there was no authorization from Alaska Northern Lights and if there had been it would have posted immediately. So the woman I'd spoken to at ANL on 11/21 had, in fact, lied to me about their authorization. So I called ANL again and left my info and complaint, siting Paypal.I very badly need this money back, and a refund should have been authorized directly upon receipt of the light box I returned.I would like ANL to make this authorization immediately. I would have e-mailed them, but don't trust them after what I was told. On November 21, we processed a refund with PayPal. The customer left a message on November 26 saying that they refund did not go through. We immediately called PayPal and verified the refund again. We concluded the call with PayPal saying they would process it right away. We called the customer back after speaking to PayPal and left a message saying that the refund would be processed. We received another message from the customer on November 27, saying she checked her PayPal account and the refund was processed.Refunds with PayPal are not immediate. They can take anywhere from 12-48 hours to process through. We take these matters very seriously which is why we contact PayPal immediately after receiving word that the refund did not process. If any further information is needed, please let me know. Thank you.
