? Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:The response describes this as an on-line non-refundable ticket when both their web site and the e-mailed confirmation say Alaska's Finest "is liable for only those funds paid to them" if a tour is cancelled.? They cancelled the tour, and now refuse to refund the payment.? The response states that their refund offer is good for one day only (something not stated on the web site) and states that we agreed to the terms of "the half price non-refundable ticket", without explaining how it suddenly became a half price ticket (we certainly did not get half--or any--of our money back for the tour they cancelled and we did not receive twice the tickets we originally had).? My daughter, who responded to the call announcing the cancellation just hours before scheduled departure, said that we were leaving town the next day but might be able to return early for a replacement tour; based on this, Alaska's Finest concludes that we agreed to go on another day and thereby lost all of our refund rights.? My daughter certainly did not understand that all refund rights were being lost if we were unable to change our return plans in order to get back in time for a tour, and that loss of refund rights could not be verified in any of the written materials of Alaska's Finest, because it is not there? Alaska's Finest concludes that we are due no refund per non-refundable policy (an apparently oral policy which contradicts the web site and confirmation) and not cancelling within the time allotted (which, while not set forth anywhere) is apparently one day.? ? Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Customer did not meet cancellation policy? Customer is due no refund? Cancellations are not allowed past date of tour? Customer was offered several options but wanted to reschedule but failed to reschedule and therefore due no refund on ticket

Customer did not meet cancellation policy Customer is due no refund Cancellations are not allowed past date of tour Customer was offered several options but wanted to reschedule but failed to reschedule and therefore due no refund on ticket

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:The original complaint quotes the web site and e-mailed confirmation warning that Alaska's Finest may cancel tours and will not be liable for more than the funds received. The response asserts that I did not follow the cancellation policy and that cancellations are not allowed past the date of the tour, but neither of these appear in the advertising or the confirmation sent by Alaska's Finest: they are now thrown up as a justification for not returning the money I paid for a tour which they cancelled. I have lost $in paying for a tour which they decided not to provide.Sincerely,*** ***

Customer was informed of mechanical cancellation as all passengers were on day in question. They were given options of substituting the boat for three other options that exceeded the cost of the cruise price. In addition, customers were given options of an immediate
refund. All customers opted to do other substitutes with the exception of two who stated they were coming back to Anchorage and would call to reschedule They were made aware of cancellation policies and that they were now holding a non-refundable ticket. They agreed to go on another day and stated they would call. So ticket was not cancelled. They were in no way moved one way or another into taking any options. Customer called back almost 60 days later saying they did not reschedule and knew she was advised she purchased an online non-refundable ticket when agreeing to terms and conditions during her online booking process. Customer was advised that tickets were now non-refundable especially as she stated in the first half of the conversation that although she agreed to call and reschedule she did not. She was unhappy and repeated that the mechanical was not their fault but agreed they were given options. Customer had father call and he was advised that the refunds and options for alternate programs were offered for using the ticket on the day of boat mechanical and that the refund offer was for that day only. However, that although not within company policy the company would allow the ticket to remain good for one year per owner’s verbal agreement but if price of tour were to go up that they would have to pay the difference. Customer was unhappy about agreeing to the terms and conditions of the half price non-refundable ticket. Customer was informed of the policy which they repeat clearly in their complaint and therefore is due no refund per non-refundable policy and not cancelling within time allotted
