Compunet billed me for medical services in the amount of $110.29 and stated on the bill that insurance denied the claim because patient did not have coverage on the date services were done.
This was a flat out lie. When I called my insurance company, they called Compunet with me on the phone and explained to them that I did in fact have coverage and that the insurance company had already paid their portion of the bill and the patient responsibility was $3.21. My insurance company provided them with check number, check date and clear date.
Clearly this is due to either inept people working at Compunet or fraudulent billing practices. Either way, terrible customer service and a perfect example of a company not doing the right thing in an effort to make an extra buck, or in this case an extra 100 bucks. Despicable.
