Poor furniture and cheaply built
Purchased a couch on Oct 2016 and got a warranty for any damage. Attempted to contact the warranty dept this year but the claim was denied. Contacted them again in Sept for another damage and a contractor came over and stated that the couch is cheaply built due to the staples in the wood frame. He stated that the frame should be bolted in not stapled. Attempted to contacted Albany industries via email but the email for the company never exists or no longer exists. Im at a loss.

pieces found defective. This particular group was an Import group which falls under this same manufacturers warranty. I regret our inability to provide any service or parts for this merchandise that is now over 2 1/2 years old. While I have explained the warranty and my willingness to help Ms. [redacted] with any replacement parts, there is nothing beyond that offer that Albany can do. The merchandise is well beyond the Albany warranty period. I regret but feel that I have tried to explain and offer assistance to this consumer.

For general information, Albany Industries warrants it product to be free of manufacturing defects for a period of 12 months from date of purchase. This warranty is extended to the consumer through the selling retailer. I do not see in the complaint that Mrs. [redacted] filed, that she has contacted that...

retailer. Albany covers all cost to repair merchandise during this period and I feel confident that the complaint listed by Mrs. [redacted] can be repaired, but she must contact the retailer as Albany does not have any local repair services established.Should you have any additional questions, or if I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.Regards,[redacted]Customer Service ManagerAlbany Industries?

Albany regrets the issues Ms. [redacted] has experience, however, after 3 years, all I can do is offer to send her parts at cost. The prices she listed in her original complaint at not our cost. Again, if she will provide me with the Albany style and fabric, I will be happy to check availability and quote her AT COST prices for any parts.......

I purchased a 2 cushion Albany sofa from [redacted]) in Jan 2013. It was about $1,000 on sale for $700 and also got a large matching $400 storage ottoman on sale for about $280. Pretty buttery tan velour that is soft and the back cushions are stuffed well. It looks great. With very little use, by month 6 the cushion casing split on the inside. It buckles too much when someone sits on it causing pressure on the fabric seam. The one year warranty replaced the casing. Again, with little use it split in the same spot about 18 months later. The warranty period was over by then and the fabric protection warranty (I paid extra for) does not cover this flaw. So I had no choice but pay for new casing this time. Very disappointed. While the cost was not high to purchase this sofa, I thought it was at least a 5 -7 year life cycle or more with such infrequent use (I live alone and have two living room areas). Other stories on this site describe other poor craftsmanship, so the issue is clearly quality. A cushion casing should not split from being sat on - the problem is the cushion gives too much and the bending is the cause. It is shocking though because I live alone and only use the sofa maybe 10 times a month and I weigh 120 lbs. I guess it would have totally split apart if it was being used at the rate a family would use it under normal conditions. I have owned 3 sofas in 35 years, the other two lasted many years and were still worthy of resale when I got rid of them. Obviously Albany manufacturing is poor, not tested, and just cheaply constructed. I am not happy. I really did not know anything about Albany. My friend said, crap like that has to be from China. SURPRISE, made in Albany Mississippi USA. So warning - not worth the money. Your money will be wasted. Put another few hundred toward your purchase and buy from a reputable North Carolina manufacturer.
