Review: In late May 2014 I got the name of Al Englebach from a cement contractor I had used when I told him I was going to replace my damaged storm door. Mr. E came to my house and I explained that I needed to replace the door due to the damage when a pkg. was put in between the doors and the wind caught the storm door and blew it open. I no longer wanted to forcibly have to pull the door shut (which wouldn't latch) and I wanted the areas finished off where the hinges were not properly aligned as well as the top area where the chain was ripped out. He explained that he did this type of work his whole life and it was an easy fix. He later called and gave me an estimate for $368. I agreed and he came out within 2 days. I paid in full but when I saw the end result was not happy. I called Mr. Englebach and explained how I still needed to forcibly pull the door shut, there were exposed nails, the chew marks from the chain were not covered up, something was cut off the bottom of the door and was uneven. He said he takes pride in his work and has never had an unhappy customer and would be back the next week with aluminum and get it taken care of. To date, I have talked to Mr. Englebach close to 10 times. He is always very nice, but always has an excuse but says he'll be out the following week. The check I wrote and that he cashed was 6/3/14. It is now 9/21/14 and he still has not returned to do the work.Desired Settlement: I want the complaint on file. I am having another company replace the door. I will have the door that Mr. Englebach installed propped on my back porch so that he may pick it up. I do not want the money for the labor returned to me, but I do want the money for the cost of the door as I'm sure Mr. Englebach will use it on another job that he may or may not finish.
