garage door opener has a one year parts and labor warranty. He was very argumentative on the phone insisting that in New York State it was a law that on new construction there was a mandatory two year warranty on mechanical devices. I have never heard of this law and I don't think there is such a law. I was not rude to him, I was just stating that the warranty was over and there would be a charge. He agreed to have uscome do the service but was not happy about the charge. We went out there and did a general maintenance which should be done every few years to keep everything in good working order. His  safety sensors were a little out of line which happens when they get knocked by brooms, garbage cans, etc. As a precaution for the future we put some bolts in the sensors where they are attached to the door track so it would be harder to knock them out of line. This is not something that is in the installation instructions to do but it is something we have found helps if people have a tendency to knock them. I have enclosed the manufacturer's warranty, along with our warranty that is given to all customers whenwe do a door and/or opener. I do not feel any further action needs to be taken.
