Due to the fact that the company was not honest when doing business with me, I do not wish to have any further services with them or to visit the location for any reason. This complaint is about more  than just the battery, prices were not correct as well and I was lied to. The company has been less than forth coming about this incident as well as selling me a bad tire in the past, which they corrected but if it had not been for someone working on  my car noticing it, I would have not known they had given me a bad tire. I would like a refund for the amount of the store credit. Please understand that trust has been broken with this merchant. They failed to properly diagnose the issue and did not even bother to call and ask me what the car was doing until after it shut off again, once I left their shop. This is not good customer service. I hope you find my request to be adequate.]

In response to the rebuttal received 9/15/14, we will gladly issue Ms. [redacted] a refund for her battery and used tire that she is not happy with. Please have Ms. [redacted] contact the ATC Auto Service General Manager, [redacted] to arrange for her refund. Any questions please do not hesitate to give me a call. Thank you.

I have reviewed the above referenced claim and spoke to the service manager of our ATC Auto Service location regarding this matter. When a vehicle is brought in for a “no-start” condition, multiple systems on the vehicle are diagnosed, and it is not...

uncommon for a vehicle to have an intermittent fault. The only problem with starting that could be found upon initial diagnosis was the battery having a bad cell. As an act of good faith and for customer satisfaction, I am willing to offer the customer a store credit for the battery (she may keep the battery we installed) for  89.97. If this is not satisfactory to the customer please do not hesitate to contact me.

Review: On Tuesday August 19th at 6:15 pm, I got into my car and it would not start. I had it towed the following morning to Alberts tire located on E Carson st. and he said his mechanic would call me. When the mechanic called he said that my car needed a battery and the carbon air filter was dirty and the serpentine belt should be replaced. He said this all came from the electrical system test he ran. I asked him what needed to be done in order for my car to run. He said youre going to have to replace the battery. I asked him specifically what each part would cost.He told me the battery would cost 162 to replace, the serpentine belt would cost 60, labor included and the air filter would cost 40 to replace. I told him to replace the battery since that is what would make my car run and that the price was high, he said batteries for my car are expensive and I told him to change the air filter. He gave me a total of $350. I then called back and told him to go ahead and change the serpentine belt for another $120, includes labor. He said everything that was one would be on a paper in my car when I picked it up, the key would be left inside for me.I got it my car, it started fine and about a mile down the road it started to stall. I cut the car off, it started and I went about another half mile between Josephine and 18th st and the car cut off and would not start. The exact same thing it did prior and why I took it in to the shop. I had someone else look at it and it happens my gas hand is not working properly and the car was actually empty on fuel and just needed more gas. The battery was not the issue to begin with.I called the shop at 8am opening to inform them that my battery wasnt the problem because the car shut off not even a mile from the location and asked why I was told my car needed a battery in order to run. The service man said: YOURE CAR STARTED FINE FOR US AND WAS NOT GIVING US A PROBLEM SO THE MECHANIC RAN A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND IT SAID YOU HAD A BAD BATTERY CELL, SO IT WOULD NEED TO BE CHANGED. I TOLD HIM THAT THE MECHANIC DID NOT EVEN INFORM ME THAT MY CAR HAD STARTED OR THAT IT WAS NOT GIVING YOU ANY ISSUES. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THAT BEFORE ANY SERVICE CHECK WAS PERFORMED ON THE CAR. He replied I am sorry you were not advised that we were not having any issues with your car but he did run a diagnostic check and it showed the battery cell was bad on the battery. Sorry you were misinformed but if you want us to look at it again we can because it sounds like you have a bad fuel pump. I told him this needed to be corrected because I was not informed and was lied to. He said sorry but it needed the battery.Desired Settlement: My dispute is that I was not informed that there were no issues with my car or that it started, I was not asked to perform the diagnostic check once they found no issues. Once the car showed no problems I should have been called to ask what problems occurred prior to the car being told in prior to performing a diagnostic check on a vehicle that was running without replacing any parts as I was told, the mechanic would do, when I called in to inform them that my car would not start and was being towed in. The battery should have been optional since the car was running with no issues, nor the service performed for the battery including additional service for cleaning the battery cable, spraying and other things listed, which were not discussed with me should have been charged. I am seeking the price for the battery, and all labor surrounding the battery placement be corrected. I am also disputing the price and labor for the serpentine belt. I was told it was $60 including labor and I was
