I contacted the customer and attempted to talk through the various issues her car has. She admitted that the day her car didn't start she was scared and upset and that was the reason for the complaint. The primary disconnect has come from the expectation that when the car is in service it would be... checked over from f*t to back and any problems that might be there would be caught while diagnosing the concern it was brought in for. I explained that they do inspect the vehicle and look for other issues but often times they do not present until the computer displays a fault code for the technician to see and realize there are additional problems. When her vehicle was in on the first two visits, the fuel pump was functioning correctly. When it failed her car didn't start. We recommended that she replace it and also alerted her to two other issues. Since her visit she has taken the vehicle elsewhere and its been diagnosed differently. Her vehicle is not under warranty so any work she is wanting performed would be at her expense. We have not charged her for fixing any of these issues. I offered to discount any work we do perform or trade her out of the vehicle. She has declined at this point.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/11/06) */
Our customer purchased an year old pre-owned vehicle with 80k milesShe agreed to a price for the vehicle and for her trade inA trade in that she had just purchased from another dealer less than days priorShe claimed to have had a
terrible experience there and claimed the vehicle was also not goodDuring the sale she was made aware the vehicle did not have a warranty and signed documentation stating that she recognized the vehicle was not under warrantyOnce she purchased the vehicle she found a couple of things that frustrated her with the vehicle and we fixed those issues at no charge to herShe also claimed the amount we agreed to give her for her tag title and tax was larger than we actually agreed toSo we adjusted the amount to the amount she felt it should beShe now doesn't like the car because she thought it would get better gas mileage and she didn't realize the car fax showed previous paint repairWe have made every effort to try and find a way to help our customer but at this point we don't have anything further we can do
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2015/11/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First, I did not purchase my traat a dealershipNot only was I very pleased with my trade in, I simply was not aware how much maintenance and repairs would cost as neededThe vehicle I got from Jackie Cooper had in fact been wrecked, not just "paint chips", as I have taken the car to a body shop to confirm damage to the front left of this PriusIn fact, the body shop brought to my attention that the front drivers door has been replaced as it has a different VIN number on it than belongs to this car! Other signs of damage were found under front left quarter panel as I recently had to have the tires rotated and I asked them to look closely at front left once that tire was removedThey sited multiple signs of issues which they have documented for me and signedAlso, I went in to Jackie Cooper to inquire about my $check for TTL on Prius and was told it would come with title in mail and either made out to me or me and the DVM, a two party check! My trade in, a Mercedes Benz Ethat they said was only worth $was posted for sale siting Kelly Blue Book value of $12,and had an internet special price of $Yet salesman told me these "book values mean nothing"Had I been told the truth that the Prius had been wrecked I would have never bought it as I do not buy a wrecked vehicleI only had possession of the Prius not quite hours before being able to assess the poor gas mileage, also which I have gas receipts and mileage videoed as to prove what I am sayingI have spoken with mechanics as to cost to me to find out why, or even if, the problem can be fixedI was told it could not be quoted as to cost as they did not know to what degree they would have to get into car to determine the problemThe Mercedes I traded in got better gas mileage than this Prius! This dealership is crooked!

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: They were not honest in their response which is something I'm learning the dealership does often. I was contacted by the manager, [redacted], almost a week later and only after I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. I tried to work with the dealership but Mr. [redacted] never returned my phone calls and voicemails. After several days of unanswered calls I sought to get my car fixed elsewhere. The dealership quoted me a [redacted] for a new fuel pump but that was not the issue. I needed a sensor replaced and my fuel pump was fine. The problem is Jackie Cooper BMW claimed I need a new fuel pump and that was not the case. I don't feel people should be able to incorrectly diagnosis vehicles based on the fear of their clients needing reliable transportation. This dealership is crooked and should be punished.
Sincerely,

We have tried to explain the lease to this client on several occasions. Everything is correct with his paperwork and is just as we agreed when we sold him the vehicle. His understanding of the Tag Title and Tax in Oklahoma seems to be the...

issue. Many states do not charge TT&L on the Sale Price but tax the lease payment. He is not understanding that Oklahoma does this differently.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I fully understand what was said. However from the beginning, I always mentioned that I was negotiating a drive out price including tag title and license. It is unethical for a salesman to attempt to deceive a client based on sales tactics like this.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2015/12/02) */
Please understand we would like for this customer to be happy and understand what he agreed to. He didn't purchase a vehicle, he leased one. He didn't negotiate a price on a purchase, he agreed to a lease payment, the term, and the amount due at signing. Which included the Tag Title and Tax and his first payment. He agreed to pay $1,000 at signing and pay 35 additional payments of $487.66. This agreed upon amount included the TT&L. It wasn't $3,000 or anywhere close to that amount. It was $1,250 and was included in the amount he paid.
