In response to [redacted] complaint, our company finalized the terms of the contract on January 18, with the homeownerThe project was not able to start immediately due to permit regulationsThe scope of the job required blueprints prior to applying for permitsThis process doesn’t happen overnightThese are details that need to be completed prior to the start of any workThe work itself could have been completed within weeks if issues didn’t arise, causing delaysAll exterior frame work must be completed prior to interior workThis was done, however we were delayed by the HVAC systemThe homeowner wanted to change what was originally agreed to for the systemHe wanted something other than what our HVAC technician suggested to handle the allotted spaceThis issue delayed the project over a month because [redacted] would not accept the install of the unit originally agreed uponOur HVAC technician refused to install what he wanted, so we were forced to find another HVAC technicianIn the end, our company allowed for a $upgrade at no additional expense to the [redacted] so they could have the system they wanted and we could move forward with the projectNo other interior work could be completed until the HVAC system was installedSince the HVAC system is complete, we have an agreed timeframe with the [redacted] as to the completion of the interior part of the projectThe reason we collected some of the money when we did (not $80,000), was because the deadline had arrived to use the funds at a 0% interest rate for the loansThis had been explained to the [redacted] and they were in full agreement because of the 0% interest rateThere were no cheap products installedThe windows were not the wrong colorThe [redacted] decided they didn’t want the trim to be white; they wanted it to match the original window trimEverything is scheduled to be completed by the end of August, including changing the trim on the windows, providing no further delays ariseThere is still an open balance of $12,for this project

The sales man came in and without telling us the final estimate he was pushing us to sign the contract with himHe told us the roughly estimate between and thousandIt was a big difference between these pricesHe was trying to impress us with his personal stories about his familyWe end up not doing the business with themWe found a much cheaper and the best company of CT

This roof was completed April 30, Since the roof was completed, it never leaked due to rain or snowThere were no issues until the major snow storms we had in This was caused by ice damsSeveral people in the state experienced ice dams due to the severity of the weatherBased upon what the owners told me is that they waited until summer to make sure it wasn't leaking in the summerOn August 21, we were contracted to remove the bottom 3' of the roof and install ice and water shield along with metal flashing 18' over the face of the fascia board because ice damming will leak water between the fascia board and base(plywood) upon meltingAt this time we also included gutters and leaders with leaf guardSince then the roof has not leaked until the winter of 2013/again due to severe weather which caused ice dams across the stateThe roof has only "leaked" during the two times the state has experienced severe winter weather which caused ice damsThousands of homes were affected by the severe winter weatherWarranties do not cover "ACTS of God" It is a homeowners responsibility to either take precautions such as removing the snow build up on the roof themselves or hiring someone to do so We were ready to help them with the interior damage that was caused by the ice damming which is not our faultI have no problem working with the [redacted] in an effort to rectify the situation but the "leak" caused by the ice damming happened because the ice dam built up over the height of the 3' ice and water shieldCode for ice and water shield is 2'I don't see where Alcraft has been negligent in this case
