On [redacted] 2015 I called the auto body shop to pay for repairs on the car of someone (who's car was damaged by a trailer that I was pulling). I put the estimated amount, that I had a receipt for on a credit card over the phone. At the time I told the lady on the other end that if there were additional charges, above and beyond the estimated amount, they were to send me a receipt (I provided and email address and phone number) and call me. I expressly forbid the auto body shop from making additional charges to my credit card. The lady on the phone agreed to call prior to charging anything additional to my credit card.Yesterday while checking my credit card I happened to notice that the auto body shop charged and additional [redacted] to my credit card in direct contradiction to my request and their previous agreement.I have no receipt of what the charges were nor verification that the work was completed. I tried to email the lady who own the car, but I have not received a response.I suspect [redacted] of the feel was for a rental, but last I heard, a rental was not required by the customer. The only reason that I even know about the rental charge is that the body shop tried to add that charge initially, but I was unwilling to pay the fee until I was able to verify that the charge was legitimate. [redacted] from the auto body shop, emailed me a copy of the revised quote, containing the rental on [redacted] but that was the last I heard from the company or the customer.Order_Number: RO Number XXXXXDesired SettlementI want a receipt and verification that the work was completed. That was by far the bigger issue. And, I honestly never would have reported the business if they had not charged my credit card without my consent. Additionally, the business does not take photos to justify the additional charges. I have no idea if the broken pieces were a result of them removing the bumper or if the damage occurred in the accident. They stated in an email to me that they only provide pictures for insurance charges. I don't understand why the same courtesy was not extended to me as I was not present to verify the damage.If the business had notified me of the additional charges, I could have requested pictures then, before the car was picked up. Final Business Response The customer was not called unintentionally, unfortunately we are a fast moving shop and our goal is to get the cars our in a timely fashion so they do not accumulate more rental charges. Typically we only take photos for the insurance because they request them. The owner of the vehicle was aware of the situation given that's who we deal with. As far as the charges [redacted] was for 3 day car rental and the [redacted] plus tax is for the r. bumper step pad. These pads sometimes come off and are reusable most other times the small plastic tabs break off and we need to replace that part. We are not sure what else we can do at this point if she would like to come down and speak to the shop manager and he can explain all the charges and repairs she is more than welcome.

Business did not properly fix the body damage on my vehicle to my satisfaction after being paid in full by insurance company. In May of 2013, I brought my vehicle to this business after being involved in a situation where another vehicle hit the front passenger [redacted] of my vehicle while mine was parked, including the front bumper and headlight. This business was quite far from my home, but I took it there anyway as per recommendation of the dealership where I purchased my vehicle. As this damage was not my fault, the insurance company for the other party sent me a check to cover the damages. When I picked up my vehicle, I noticed almost immediately that [redacted] did not properly fix the body damage, it was still noticeable that there was damage there. I contacted them and was not able to find a good time to travel out that far to get it redone, as I trusted them to do it right the first time and left them my vehicle for over a week. I cannot take time from my work schedule usually and have a young child as well. They were not apologetic for the quick botched work they did on my car and blamed me for not being able to come back, which I should not have had to do. They were rude and bullied me into getting the full payment that the insurance company sent me. And on one occasion even charged my card without my approval. Then, they claimed to have ordered a new headlight for me and disappeared for months as I was waiting on their returned call they promised me. In the meantime, they charged even more to the insurance company without contacting me or making any more attempts to fix my vehicle. Finally I got in touch with them and they mailed me the headlight months after they got paid by the insurance company to do the work! At this point, I no longer wanted to deal with this rude and incompetent body shop and agreed to them mailing me the headlight. Only to realize now I am stuck with a headlight and would now have to pay to install it out of pocket and my car is still damaged. Ultimately they got paid for the work and did not complete it and have been extremely rude and hanging up on me. WE WERE WILLING TO APPESASE M.[redacted] AND REPLACE HER HEADLAMP PRIOR TO THE INSURANCE APPROVAL.WE MADE SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS WHICH SHE NEVER KEPT EVEN WILLING TO PICK HER VEHICLE UP AND GET A RENTAL COVERED ,EXHAUSTING ALL OUR OFFERS TO CORRECT ANY ISSUES SHE MIGHT HAVE WE FELT SHE JUST DIDN'T WANT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. SHE WAS SENT A CERTIFIED LETTER WHICH SHE RESPONDED ON THE LAST DAY OF THE NOTICE ON SEPTEMBER 6,2013 @ THAT TIME WE PROVIDED ANOTHER DATE TAHT M,[redacted] CHOSE FOR MONDAY SEPTEMBER 16,2013 WHICH AGAIN SHE DID NOT SHOW ,BUT DID CALL AND PAID 1/2 THE AMOUNT SHE OWED AND ASKED US TO SEND THE HEADLAMP TO HER @ THAT TIME THE HEADLAMP REPLACEMENT HAD NOT BEEN APPROVED AND HER FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES WERE NOT MET HERE AND WE ALSO NEEDED TO MAKE SURE THE HEADLAMP PAYMENT WOULD COME TO THE SHOP.THE REPLACEMENT HEADLAMP PAYS A 0.2 LABOR ON THE ESTIMATE WHICH EQUALS $7.60 (SEVEN DOLLARS & SIXTY CENTS)THE FEES FOR THE SHIPPING,CERTIFED LETTER & RETURN CHECK FEES EXCEEDS THE COSTS M.[redacted] IS CLAIMING WE OWE HER, WE DO HAVE ALL THE DOCUMENTS TO SUPPORT EVERTHING STATED AND WOULD BE HAPPY TO SEND THEM AS WELLConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Their response is simply untrue. I called them almost immediately after picking up my vehicle and told them my concerns and even sent them an email with pictures. I explained to them that the damage was still visible and I explained to them how far they were from my home and my hectic work schedule and having my one year old to take care of on my own with work, I was very disappointed that they did not do the work properly the first time and tried to give it back to be unfinished hoping I would not notice. That is unprofessional and bad business. I explained to them I would rather go elsewhere that would not give a car back unfinished. They had no problems collecting more and more checks from the insurance company without notifying me that they were receiving extra funds. That is bad business too as they told me they would notify me as soon as they hear from the insurance. I had to call them months later as they hid the fact that they received two additional checks. I ultimately did not want to deal with them after they improperly fixed the damage on my vehicle and continued to collect more and more insurance checks without doing any work, I feel they are crooks, I am looking to get the funds back that they received from the insurance so I can take my vehicle to a professional to fix what they were unable to.Final Business Response [redacted] AUTO BODY HAS DONE EVERTHING TO APPEASE M.
