Customers are notified of this multiple times when purchasing the subscription, as shown in the screenshots included at the end of this response.Additionally, after investigating this situation further, I can confirm that refunds were provided to this customer on 3/2/2018. Please see below for full details:The customer purchased two student accounts using two different email addresses:o“Account 1" was purchased on 11/07/2016 using the 6-month recurring subscription option.O“Account 2" was purchased on 12/27/2016 using the 1-month recurring subscription option.The customer emailed [redacted] Customer Support on 10/31/2017 requesting instructions on how to cancel their account subscription. Instructions were provided. The customer followed up on 11/1/2017 stating they no longer had the login information for their account. Login information for “Account 2” was provided, since that was the account associated with the email address the customer contacted us with. The customer did not follow-up further, did not request that we cancel the subscription on their behalf, and did not indicate that a second account with a different email address existed.The customer called [redacted] Customer Support on 3/2/2018 expressing displeasure that they were being charged for an account that was not being used. After investigating, the Customer Service Representative verified that the subscription for “Account 2" had not been canceled, and also discovered the existence of "Account 1" with a separate active recurring subscription.The CSR confirmed that the customer originally contacted [redacted] Customer Support requesting cancellation instructions on 10/31/2017, and that neither of the accounts had been used since. While no refund was requested at that time, the CSR brought this to the attention of a supervisor to see if it would be possible to refund all payments processed after the date the customer originally requested cancellation instructions.[redacted]

Review: I purchased a book and a login from Aleks corporation. My login expires 8/13/15. I phoned to extend my login by one week. I can only pay for 11 weeks. There is not an alternative way to pay for just the one week I need. I have to have the login to take my pre final on 8/17/15 and my final on 8/19/15. It's a monopoly, I don't have another choice as a consumer. I phoned and spoke to [redacted] on 8/11/15 and asked to speak to a supervisor. [redacted] called me twice and said he couldn't do anything. [redacted] called me today 8/12/15 and said if the teacher changed something I could pay for an extra 6 weeks for $38. I have to have that login to take my final for the class that I paid $500 to take. You wouldn't pay someone for 11 day vacation and be only allowed to be somewhere for 2 days. It's very unethical. I'm a full time nurse and a mother and wife and am trying to take a college class one at a time. I can't just drop $74 dollars for a login for one week, we have groceries to buy for our two children.Desired Settlement: A monopoly is illegal and the company should be notified that their actions are unethical and unfair.

Review: I was given an temporary financial access code that would had gave me enough time to buy a new one. Which it did, and I proceeded to buy a 6 week code on Feb 24, 2015 for $38. Which would have lasted until April 7, 2015, but it failed to do so. It only lasted until Mar 19, 2015. I was told my purchase on Feb 24, 2015 was mandated all the way back a whole month of Jan 14, 2015 the start date of my actual course. Instead of honoring my actual purchase date of Feb 24, 2015. I feel taken advantage of, I have never experienced any situation involving me buying a subscription for a service. Then my subscription being pushed back a whole month of the actual purchase date.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund in full of $38, and the rest of my subscription to be honored from the actual purchase date for my inconvenience.
