Review: January 2013 a water pipe in my kitchen busted while I was away due to extreme cold. Heat was ON but was no help in this situation. Alex Szeles Restoration was immediately called and insurance Adjuster was sent. The kitchen, downstairs bathroom, living room, and upstairs bedrooms were damaged with water. Szeles was assigned the job to fix repairs and told the homeowner and insurance they would be done with the house by March 24, 2013. As of today May 22, 2013 the job is about 20% finished. Floors were to be put in last Thursday May 16th at 2pm today May 22nd there are NO floors. All kitchen furniture sits in the living and in the process of moving everything because THEY are behind the deadline (they were given 3 months notice of when the furniture would be delivered) they have DESTROYED the living room carpet. Everything they have fixed so far is HORRIBLE, it ALL needs repaired. Things that were ordered for the kitchen in FEBRUARY have STILL not arrived. Szeles has also billed the insurance company for removal and replacement of things that were outside contracted and NOT done by them. I believe that is FRAUD on their part. They do not return phones or emails. Insurance company has even tried to contact them. I have receipts to prove this.They house is worse off, they do not care about the customer only money. I want to fire them and hire a NEW company that actually gets the work done (and done right) I am tired of the run around they have been giving. I have had to cancel a trip because I cannot have these men in the house with no one there. The job was SUPPOSE to be DONE March 24th and should not have affected my trip. So I have now lost money on the trip, carpet is RUINED because of this company which I will be forced to take them to court over. This company SHOULD NOT be allowed to operate. If they cannot finish the job in the next 3 weeks, I want them FIRED and A REAL COMPANY to finish the jobDesired Settlement: Finish the job in 3 weeks or be fired. NOT overcharge for things SZELES did not do. I have proof other companies did the work Szeles is trying to bill me for.

Alex R. Szeles, Inc. was called to the house owned by [redacted] located at [redacted] on January 2013 to begin mitigation work on the house due to a broken pipe. The allegation that all repairs would be completed by March 24, 2013 is false. As of March 28, 2013 the insurance company had not yet authorized the replacement of windows, and other supplemental work that needed to completed. The windows had a 6 week order time, this alone caused a substantial delay that was out of the control of Alex R. Szeles, Inc.

As of today May 23, 2013 the remaining items to be completed are painting in the living, this can not be completed until the homeowner provides a paint color. The homeowner is aware that a paint color needs to be selected and as of this writing has yet to pick a color. The kitchen vinyl flooring, is due to be installed on the morning of May 24, 2013. There is a vanity and window on the upstairs of the house that are on order and yet to be received by Alex R. Szeles, Inc. from the supplier. This delay is again due to the delayed authorization from the insurance company to pay for this work. We absolutely deny destroying the living room carpet, the living room carpet is aged, receives heavy foot traffic and is used heavily by a pet dog. An allegation that placing furniture on carpet destroys the carpet defies common sense.

This is the first instance that workmanship issues have been brought to the attention of Alex R. Szeles, Inc. despite several on site meetings to go over completed work and work yet to be done. Alex R. Szeles, Inc. disputes the allegation that "everything they have fixed so far is HORRIBLE, it ALL needs repaired." On May 23, 2013 prior to this writing [redacted] Szeles from Alex R. Szeles, Inc. discussed these allegations with the owner of the home [redacted] who was not aware of any workmanship issues.

Alex R. Szeles, Inc. has in no way committed fraud. Period! All estimates represent the damage caused by water damage, that were discussed both with the insurance company and the home owner [redacted]. There have been no billings given to the insurance company. Alex R. Szeles, Inc. was never informed before this complaint about issues with carpeting or "going to court" over the carpeting.

If [redacted] decides to continue this project with another company Alex R. Szeles, Inc. will comply with the request of the homeowner and send a final invoice for the work completed. This complaint is frankly perplexing to our staff and with out warrant. It is slanderous in nature and contains many blatant untruths. Alex R. Szeles, Inc. has not sent a bill to [redacted] EVER. We have not overcharged for work, our prices are derived from "Xactimate" the most widely used estimating software and are the same exact prices that the insurance company uses and did use on this claim. Alex R. Szeles, Inc. did not commit fraud.

It is our hope to complete the project to the home owners satisfaction.
