I provided my coat for dry cleaning service and when I picked up my coat a few days later, I inspected my coat and noted the inner lining fabric of the coat was burnt. This burn was caused by the business, as the fabric had not been burnt prior to me giving the coat for dry cleaning. The employee who provided me with my coat during pick-up did not even bring this up and when I approached the owner of the business about the burnt fabric on my coat, he was incredibly unprofessional. He actually laughed and lied to me, stating they did not cause the burn and the burnt fabric had always been there. I could not believe he was actually lying to me and that this business is still in operation. Incredibly unprofessional and unethical

This is a response to a complaint filed by *** (case #***). The complainant received the dry cleaning in February 7th. They then came back into the store a few hours later and asked an employee for a return on the cleaning fee. The employee asked the complainant to return the next day and to speak to the owner. The complainant returned and requested payment for the coat. The usual process is that we inspect all clothing when it comes into the store. For coats, they go through a dry cleaning and steam process. This process does not heat the clothing enough to burn or scorch. After this was explained, the complainant got agitated, she said some foul language at my husband, then threw a set of keys on the table and then proceeded to leave. My husband was caught off guard and English is not our first language and he did not know how to respond. He tried to deescalate the situation by showing how the fabric goes into the steam process.
