 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because, while I received the check from Alexander House, it was not for the amount I requested as specified under Maryland law. In addition, the business admitted to many different errors it made along the way, including but not limited to the following: According to the property manager, they filed our original security deposit incorrectly. They then processed it incorrectly again when we moved out. They didn't respond to me after I called them on Friday, August 12th because the manager was on a scheduled absence, of which the assistant manager was not apparently aware because she told me he would call me back on Monday the 15th. When the property manager was back from his absence, he did not begin to research the issue until he received my complaint from the Revdex.com, which was almost two weeks after I called and visited the business. All of this, plus their reputation from many other former tenants who have had trouble recouping their security deposits, shows either gross incompetence or a systematic decision to withhold security deposits. At best, this means the business is not following good business practices; at worst, it is following illegal business practices.
Regards,
