Review: This complaint is for tractor repairs. Alexander Tractor - [redacted] - said the tractor in question needed a new clutch. The issue was the tractor would not go into gear nor would the PTO engage. A replacement clutch was put into the tractor. The tractor will now go into gear but the PTO will not engage and engine RPM's are not correct. Typically, a tractor engine runs at 540 RPM for the PTO. The tractor will run about 300 RPM for awhile and then go up to well over the 540 RPM. The PTO will not engage. I have called Alexander Tractor multiple times and his answer is always that the PTO is stuck. His recommendation is to hot wire the PTO bypassing all safety equipment on the tractor - series safety violation. The PTO will work this way but will not engage as designed. Today, 6/1/15, Alexander Tractor stated an additional charge of $450 would be required to check the tractor. I have already paid $1000 for parts/labor for the replacement clutch and gave Alexander Tractor at least 50 round bales of hay...hay charge is about $40-$50 per round bale which totals approximately an additional charge of $2000. I told Alexander Tractor no more money would be paid to fix an issue that was already supposed to be fixed. After numerous calls about this issue he just said today that the tractor was tested before being delivered back to me. I do not believe this or I would have been informed about this months ago. Issue is ongoing for several months now.Desired Settlement: The tractor should be fixed correctly with no additional charge. Alexander Tractor is the expert in this subject matter. Money was paid in good faith that the issue was resolved. After several months of dealing with this issue it is still not resolved and Alexander Tractor is not willing to do further work without additional payment. Alexander Tractor should also not be recommending safety violations as a band-aid solution. Reimbursement for work already peformed of $1000.
