Dental issue
As I am extremely upset with regards to this whole incident with your businessI will address three things here:
representation
billing practice
Deceitful customer service
My basis on the first issue
Your employee advised us when we came in for our initial appointments, they were unsure what if any charges would be applied by the insuranceFurther consultation with the insurance provider indicates that you are not part of the network
I can only surmise that your staff knew you did not work with this insurance as a provider, but did recognize that the insurance would consider all bills submittedDuring this initial period when we asked, since you were not part of the service provider listing, you had an alternative option for new patients for x-rays and teeth cleaning, at a cost of one hundred dollars per patient, ($100.00)A total for myself and my wife of two hundred dollars, ($200.00) Yet even after we paid for services we still

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:This answer is just a "lawyer covering of the matter" response. On my first visit, this issue of the billing was not explained to me. In fact, they actually did the billing incorrectly for ***, and they made a big scene of me sitting in the dentist chair with the billing lady coming in with the proposed cost Shouldn't that be done in the outer offices It's weird. Who is going to say no while sitting in the chair. I only have standard, and they put me as high. Meaning, I thought the filing would be at that cost, then I received a bill for an additional And, I paid for the that I additionally owed on the April 10th visit For all that training the employee has been through, it looks like it has been wasted. I called *** *** on April 3rd, and they did not have the opinion of DrLongman. They stated it is procedure for them to have first cut. They should have also told me they were a non-preferred dentist of *** ***, which I did not know Though my research mistake, this should have been pointed out to me during the first and second visit that *** *** would not be paying as much as if they were preferred I do not like that type of "covering up" and not revealing the costs to the patient. Like, sir, you do know this is non-preferred. Again, the billing and the hygienist are the issues. I feel sorry that DrLongman has to put up with them as he did seem like a nice guy. When I went in for the visit on the 10th, I informed this to the ladies at the front desk, and every single one didn't care. It was if I was bugging them about the questioningRegards,
*** ***

Old Town Dental did not process my claim properly on March 27, and on April 10, I have two providers My primary is *** *** and my dental is *** The proper procedure is for them to send to my primary first, then it goes to *** They refuse to go in this procedure and keep on sending me bills that I do not have to pay because I have Federal Employee insurance and federal employee dental insurance They do not respond to any of my letters, are rude and do not care about the customer They should handle my claims properly, but they do not care

I went to this dentist for a second opinion for dental work, and had the work done there because they told me I didn't need everything the first dentist recommended What they didn't tell me was that they were not in network for my dental insurance plan, although when I asked they did say they accepted the insurance I did make clear that I had a $3,annual limi and did not want have to pay out of pocket for going over the limitI had the work done before realizing that it would cost more since they weren't in network, and when they gave me the bill at the end of the appointment I paid by credit card the full amount shown that I owed A few weeks later, I contacted my insurance company to see how much I had overpaid, and if there was anything I could do about it The insurance rep said they did not even have a claim of the work I had at AlexOld Town Dental So I called the dentist office, and asked for an itemized statement of what they had charged me, and also why they evidently hadn't billed the insurance co They did not give a clear answer why they hadn't billed the insurance, but did send me a new statement that included an additional charge I had no I idea why I was being charged more when I paid the bill in full at the end of the visit, and had not been back since, and now would never go back again

Case ID: *** Dear *** ***, We received an email from *** *** *** on Thursday, April 13, He complained about billing and how we processed his two insurances at the same timeHe also stated he did not want to go back and forth with an e-mail discussionHe only wanted
notification when the situation was resolvedWe mailed him a final statement after *** paid their portion of his last visit on 4/10/2017. We had submitted to both his primary insurance (*** *** *** ***) and his secondary insurance (***) simultaneously because they are both Federal plans and they communicate with each other*** know exactly how *** *** and *** *** will pay and doesn’t need an explanation of benefits (EOB) from themOne of the reasons *** allows this is because *** *** and *** *** is notoriously slow in its claim processing sometimes taking up to weeks to process a claimWith any other dual insurance, *** *** is correctWe must submit to the primary insurance first and wait for an EOB and then submit to the secondary insuranceThe secondary insurance needs to know how much the primary paid to calculate what their payment will be I hope this will be of help in understanding this situationWe are very familiar with the workings of dental insurance and try hard to be of service to our patientsI send my Office Manager and Billing & Insurance Coordinator to workshops on a regular basisThe latest one was March 25, to the Mid-Atlantic Dental Meeting in Washington, DC where they took a course on “Tips to Manage Your Insurance Process” given by *** ***, MS*** *** taught the attendees to use this process of simultaneous submissions when dealing with *** *** *** *** and ***. I am sorry *** *** was unhappy with us. Sincerely, Eddie *L***, DDS
