Alex's Mobile Mower

Review: Contacted Alex's business to repair a lawnmower in February. On Feb 22, 2014 he came by to do job and indicated he had to order parts and would be in touch. I received call early March that parts were in and set up service call for March 6, 2014 at 5:00pm. After starting to work on lawn mower he indicated that I needed another part which he had in his shop at home and he would return early the next morning to finish job. We agreed on a spot where I'd leave a key to the shed and I wrote a check to Alex's for payment in full as I told him I could not be home the next day which was Friday. The check was promply deposited and cleared my account on March 11,2014. No one showed up on Friday, March 7 to complete the job nor called to indicated they were not coming. After I made several calls and left messages, I received a call informing me that they did not have the part and it would have to be ordered. On Monday March 10, 2014 I received another call stating that they now had the part and would be out on Tuesday March 11, to complete the job. I agreed and told the lady that the key to the shed would be available. Tuesday around 5PM I received a call from Alex indicating he had obligation with children and could not make it that day but assured me that he would be there the following day (Wed) early to complete the job, Again I agreed and again no show. I called to check Wed around Noon to see if job was complete and received a call back around 2pm indicating that Alex was in Silver Spring all day and could not possibly have shown up to finish the repair. The caller requested that I now allow them to pick up the lawnmower and take it to have repaired. I refused because they had already missed several appointments and already cashed my check. I requested a refund and the lady on the telephone stated she'd pass along my request to Alex. Several days passed and I called back to get a status on my refund and was told that Alex had called me personally to talk about this. I have not received a call yet.Desired Settlement: Refund of my $303 payment is preferred as I now have to purchase a lawnmower because of this run around.
