Revdex.com, My name is Joseph M[redacted]. I am the father of Alex M[redacted] and I assist Alex with his business affairs. Alex is currently 29 years old. He started his Lawn care Business about 15 years ago. He is still learning the Best practices for the Lawn care business. He believes in...

being fair with all of his customers and will try to please them as best as possible. [redacted] is obviously upset with Alex for the work he has performed on 4/10/2016. I called [redacted] at 9:30 pm on 4/27/2016 and told her that if she did not agree to have Alex perform the work, then she does not need to pay Alex the $100 for the work performed. There was an obvious miscommunication on the part of Alex. Alex would not intentionally perform the work without consent. Alex has been in the Lawn care business for a long time. Alex agrees that he needs to record more detailed notes BEFORE working on a customer's lawn and include the notes in his estimate and invoice. Alex is very sorry that his customer is upset with his work and he will try to do a better job of communicating with customers in the future. [redacted] has agreed to withhold payment of $100 to serve as an equitable compromise for this situation. Sincerely, Joseph H. M[redacted]

being fair with all of his customers and will try toplease them as best as possible. Mrs. [redacted] obviously is upset with Alex for the work he has performed on 9/29/2015. She must have been pleased with some of Alex's workbecause she paid him $290 on 9/23/2015 for lawn care work.If she did not believe that Alex could do the work properly, why did she hire him again to do more work? She suggested the following forcompensation: " Perhaps I could just take the most beautiful thing that he has and cut it up." I do not think that is a nice thing to say or do. We have discussed compensationfor the work done and agree to forfeit the $400 for the work performed. There was an obvious miscommunication on the part of Alex and Mrs [redacted]. Mrs [redacted], by the way, is a neighbor of Alex in the Lakesideneighborhood. Alex would not intentionally perform "unprofessional"work on a neighbor's property for obvious reasons. Review: Alex was hired to remove specific shrubbery along a fence line to enable the extension of privacy fencing. In the event that the specified shrubbery did not create a full truck load at the agreed upon price of $400, he was to continue to remove brush behind garage until load was completed. Instead, he, without consultation or permission, destroyed heirloom landscape, ornamental trees and ground cover, perimeter bushes, bordered herb garden, lilacs, Daphne's, Sangukaku specimens in excess of $3000. Then presented me with a bill and a note that said he was sorry about the herb garden but it would come back if I put some plant food on it. I have paid garden consultants $50/hr as I am able over the past 4 years to assist me in restoring and enhancing this heirloom garden. It is now destroyed. I have tried for three days to reach the owner by phone and email and cannot get any response. My consultants came to see the damage yesterday and were shocked. They said that in all of their years they had never seen anything like this. Example: 75 year old camellia bush over 12 feet height, 8 feet circumfirence . Winter blooming. Prolific blooms early February., largest specimen in neighborhood. Looked like a tree. All that remains is the trunk and a few inner limbs and a few leaves. It looks like a skeleton against the wall of my house. My house looks naked from every angle. It is completely unimaginable. What plantings that do not have to be replaced will hopefully grow back in a year or two. In the mean time, I will live in a property that looks scarred. Like a war zone. And I cannot even get the courtesy of a phone call from the owner.Desired Settlement: At the very least, they will need to replace all of the damaged plantings. I am not happy to have the person that caused all of this damage back on my property because I do not believe that he knows what he is doing. Anyone that knows horticulture knows that one does not prune at this time of year, and no one takes down a border and runs over an herb garden! I must be compensated for the lost plantings and for the labor for someone to replant professionally. Not sure how I will be compensated for the loss of the irreplaceable camellia. Perhaps I could just take the most beautiful thing that he has and cut it up. Unless that thing was a redwood tree.

Regards,

Review: In 2015 I hired Mr. M[redacted] to mow the lawn, front and back. Mr [redacted] jumped the gun on a project I told him I had to think about because of the expense. The project was to clear the fence of overgrown weeds. He did it without my permission, when I was not home, and changed me $230. I made payments because I thought he might not have understood. I know now he just wanted the money and thought I would pay. I allowed him to cut grass last year. I told him I would contact him in 2016 when I was ready for lawn mowing if I was going to use him. I never contacted him but he showed up twice when I was not at home to say no. The first time I asked my neighbors if they knew who did it. No one did. I never heard from him saying he was coming or I would have said no. Two weeks later it was cut again. I called and got voice mail. I left a message asking if it was him. If so, stop I did not have the money to pay him. He left a voice message on 4-15-2016 and said it was him and I owe him $100. I never authorized him to come on my property and do the work. But he feels I owe him the money. If he wants to go to court that is what we will do. I will be happy to testify about how he operates. He is never to come on my property again.Desired Settlement: I do not have to pay him for work he did that was not authorized by me.

Response:

Joe [redacted] called my home the night of 4-27-2016 He stated Alex tended to jump the gun and he is working with him to learn to set up a contracts for service which clearly define the scope of services for both parties. He also stated, since there was no contract between Alex and I to do the work in question, I did not have to pay for the work Alex did that totaled $100.00. As far as I am concerned this concludes the complaint process. Since I had not made payment to Alex in the amount of $100.00 for work done in April, no refund is needed.
