In response to the claim from *** *** that we made her vehicle worse, I would like to clarify that her Husband came in with the vehicle not charging in an "emergency" and requested we install a $*** alternator from
***I informed Mr *** that the alternator he
wanted
was the incorrect amperage for the application but he
pleaded that he needed to get to *** that same day and was willing to take the riskHe also stated that he didn't have enough money for a better quality part and didn't have time or
money to let our master technician diagnose the problem thoroughlyHe simply wanted me to put in an alternator for
less than the full amount quoted which I did because I felt for himI also topped
off all his fluidsUpon completion of the alternator install the van still was not chargingWe installed a jumper wire to provide power to the alternator to ensure our part wasn't defective. It started charging at that point and I informed Mr
*** that diagnostic time was needed to
figure out why the computer wasn't turning on the alternator but he refused due to time
and money issuesWhen the belt was squealing I wanted to look into it but he was in a big rush to leave so I wasn't offered the opportunity to check anythingI informed *** over the phone when she called to complain that diagnostic time was needed and she stated "i am not paying you just to look at my van" and the van never returned to us for serviceShe stated she did have multiple backyard mechanics give her suggestions on what could be wrong. I refused to diagnose her van for free and she went mental
screaming at me until I had to hang up on herShe threatened me with bodily harm "I will destroy you" and also threated to slander me
endlessly unless I gave in to her unreasonable demands of free labor*** wants to blame me for all the problems
her van has when all we did was put in the alternator her husband wanted installed
I can appreciate that she is frustrated that it didn''t fix it but we did exactly what Mr *** wanted
