Review: At Ali Baba's Terrace, a 20% gratuity was automatically charged to my bill for a party of 2. I paid with my credit card and I asked the waiter (The receipt says our server name was [redacted]: A man that resembles [redacted]) to charge the sub-total amount and the tax to my card. I told him "I will pay the tip in cash." He said, "Okay." The server brings back my bill and he doesn't make eye contact with me. He lays the bill book on the table and swiftly walks away from my table. I open the bill book and he charged my credit card with the automatic 20% gratuity. I waited for the server to return and he did not.I was on a date with my girlfriend and I didn't want to embarrass ourselves by starting a commotion. I signed the receipt with the automatic 20% gratuity and I wrote next to my signature, "Revdex.com." As I left the restaurant, the waiter makes eye-contact with me, and waves me goodbye from across the room.I was upset and embarrassed because I was on a date, and I didn't appreciate his negative actions and the feelings he ignited upon me and my girlfriend.For proof, I have the bill with the automatic 20% gratuity and the my receipt for my credit card with the unwanted 20% gratuity charged on it.Desired Settlement: I agree with an automatic gratuity on any bill for a party of 6 or more, but I disagree with an automatic 20% gratuity for a party of 2. I believe the amount of gratuity is a decision that should be left to the customer. The service was mediocre, and I strongly disagree with the automatic 20% gratuity.I believe in tipping for good service. The waiter ignored my request and charged my credit card an automatic 20% gratuity that was not deserving. He made me and my girlfriend feel bad and uncomfortable , and for this I don't believe he earned his tip. I would like to be refunded back my $9.80 gratuity fee.
