Review: I bought a paintball gun from Alien Paintball. The electronic board in the paintball gun went out in the first year. I sent the gun in for repair and [redacted], the owner, completed the repair and returned a phone call telling me the cost. I returned his call and he told me how to get my paintball gun returned. He told me I was to send $95 via PayPal to him and include my name, number, shipping address, and what was repaired. I did all of that and he sent the paintball gun to the wrong address. After multiple emails I finally heard back from [redacted] and he refused to resend the gun to the correct address (It was returned to sender) unless I payed an additional $15 to cover shipping cost again. After 2 weeks of no returned emails from [redacted], he finally returned my emails and still refused to take responsibility for his own mistake of sending it to the wrong address and refused to resend the gun to the correct address until I paid him the additional $15.Desired Settlement: I have paid the $15 to receive my paintball gun back. I would like this $15 to be refunded, as I did everything Jack told me to do, it was his fault that he ignored my comments on the correct shipping address and sent the paintball gun to the incorrect address.

Response:

First time I heard form [redacted] was July of 2013:

"I'm missing a grip screw and my reg/Asa cap is a little dinged up. How much would it be for a new screw and reg cap?

Thanks,

Sent from my iPhone

Later he called asking for a new board.

Complaint says he bought the gun from us - however my understanding is he bought the gun used.

I put a new board in the gun at my cost and spent time making the gun shoot perfectly - including installing a upgraded spring. No charge. I sent the gun back to address listed on PayPal - printed the label as shown.

I get the gun back - refused delivery.

Gun sits in my shop for at least 6 weeks.

Below is emails:

I sent my gun in a while ago and payed $95 for the new board, spring, and shipping via paypal on Oct. 8th, 2013. In the comments I specified my name, number, email, and address that I wanted it shipped to. The gun was shipped to my billing address and not the address I specified, so it should have been returned to shipper; you.

I am hoping that this is the case and that my gun is not lost. My name is [redacted] and I sent my 2012 invasion in with a broken board. You put in a new board and lpr spring I believe and I sent you the $95 for the services and shipping.

If you have the gun, could you please ship it to the correct address at:

Beta Sigma Psi

206 S. College Ave.

Columbia, MO 65201

Sorry for the confusion with the earlier address,

My response:

It's been on the shelf for weeks waiting for you - no - not lost...I don't like to be difficult about the little things, but that note is a bit vague - when we get paid we click on Mailing label and ship...

We were very fair with the repairs because the gun is new. However the Post Office will want another $15 to ship - so you will need to PayPal the additional e$15 to [email protected]

What is clear to me is that he had his "parents" ?? refuse delivery so that it would come back to me and I would get to pay to get him the gun.

He is now upset with me and if I give him money it will only make him "justified".

I was more than fair to him. I get one person every two years or so that will not be satisfied even when I go above and beyond for them.

As I said to him on the last email I sent, I sold him parts at my cost - installed them for free, spent extra time making sure his gun was in top condition, even replacing parts he didn't know could be replaced and that he wouldn't have noticed were replaced, but should have noticed improved the performance, and - to - me it seemed that he wanted to make sure I lost money. Because months later the address on PayPal is still the same address. I have to believe that he has gone home a couple of times while all this was going on.

I believe in treating customers fairly and even a bit more than fair- it's only $15 - and the $15 has been way more trouble than it's worth - including now responding to you - but giving him money, don't se it.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

As exhibited in the response from the company, they make rude assumptions based off of little to no evidence, and continue to make false accusations and skewing the facts to take blame off of the clearly poorly run business. I will start from the beginning. The response starts off with my first email I sent to Alien Paintball, requesting replacement parts. That initial email never received a response from Alien. Later, the board in my gun became broken and I had to call Alien Paintball to request it to be fixed. Alien then complains in their response that I bought the gun used. I was never asked to provide a receipt or proof of purchase from Alien Paintball, so to make a complaint about the gun being bought used after the fact is ridiculous and shows an attempt to, once again, remove fault from themselves. The response also states that they replaced the board at their cost, which was their choice as I was never given a price until after the fix was made, and says that they replaced a spring at no cost, as if to say that they should be forgiven for shipping to the wrong address because of this. The spring that was replaced was never mentioned by me to be replaced, and was actually replaced on all other guns for free, not just mine. It is then said that they simply printed the shipping label off of PayPal and that the comment box that contained the correct shipping address was not even looked at. When I called Jack to learn what was needed of me to get my gun shipped back, he stated to send the $95 via PayPal and to include a comment with my name, number, shipping address, and what was fixed. I did just that, and the comments were not even looked at. They also said that I "refused delivery". That is not true, the delivery required a signature, and since the gun was shipped to the wrong address, there was nobody home to sign due to being at work so the gun was brought back to the usps building. The gun then sat at the building for a week because I was it home and did not know that it had tried to be delivered. After enough time had passed the gun was sent back to the return address as usps policy. The gun then sat at Alien Paintball for 6 weeks until I returned home and learned that the delivery had been missed. I received no contact from Alien Paintball that the gun had been returned to sender even though they had my email and phone number. A perfect example of the rude accusations made by Jack and assumptions can be quoted straight from his response, "What is clear to me is that he had his 'parents' ?? refuse delivery so that it would come back to me and I would get to pay to get him the gun." He starts by putting "parents" in quotation marks and putting 2 question marks after to say that he believes I'm lying about the gun being sent to my parents house and then goes on to say that I conspired to not receive delivery just to have him pay more money to ship it to the correct address. It is plausible and common to have a different billing address associated with a card/account than the shipping address. That is why it always asked separately when making purchases online. I am also a 20 year old student away at college, so how it is so "clear" to Jack that I am guilty of what he said in that sentence that I actually have my own house and had somebody else other than my parents refuse delivery just to make him spend more money is beyond me. He then goes on to repeat that he believes he went above and beyond by replacing at his cost and replacing the part that was never asked to be replaced. The bottom line is that Alien Paintball does not have integrity. What has been said and what had been done, are completely opposite. He says that it's only $15 and has been more trouble than it's worth, yet has continued to refuse to pay it and continues to blame me. I have done nothing but do what was asked of me, yet I'm the only one paying more money at the threat of not getting my product back. I included the shipping address from the beginning and have only been accused of lying and conspiring to cause him more trouble, when it was their fault from the very beginning. "... and - to - me it seemed that he wanted to make sure that I lost money. Because months later the address on PayPal is still the same address." The address on PayPal hasn't changed because I live with my parents when I am not away at school and that is the BILLING ADDRESS associated with my account. I'm not sure what is confusing about that, or why it shows that I just want to cost him more money. I never once complained about spending $95 for repair of a product that he made. Again, I did all that Jack asked of me and have gotten nothing but more trouble and more money spent. Jack also still does not know my name even after 10+ emails and multiple phone calls, which once again shows a lack of professionalism and laziness or inability to simply look it up, another thing to keep in mind for future customers.

Sincerely,
