I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]It has been three full weeks ever since the A[redacted] Auto Sales offered settlement. ($20,000+Store credit for the rest of the amount)  However, Bill (the general manager) is keep saying, 'I only work here.  The owner is in Florida.'  Bill, is waiting on Andree A[redacted] (the owner)'s order to write me a check.   No one in the store seems to have any idea about the Revdex.com website and they do not have any idea who sent previous message.  If you are the owner, order your general manager to write a check ASAP.

Review: I had purchased a Ford Tuarus, 2011 from the dealership in September of 2013. The airconditiong and all worked and after purchase I put the car in the garage. When the hot weather cam this May of 2014, I turned the ac on for the first time and enjoyed it all day. The next day the ac stopped working. I made an appointed went into the dealers service department and they said it was just needing refrigerant. They wanted to charge me fully but we settled on me just paying 80.00 cash which I did. Two day later I used the ac and it was great, next day not working. Called back and kept an appointment made for service again. Now I am told its the condenser and would cost me about 480.00 or so and that they would deduct the 80.00 I paid earlier. I was furious as they service repair person should have known the immediate problem the first time and I complained that I only had put 3,000 miles on the car since I bought it, it was for use as a second car, and that they should replace the unit on their own. They stated that I was over the warranty by months although my miles were within the warranty time frame. [redacted] got involved and was nasty to me and since then has told other it was me that was nasty. I have it all on a legally recorded tape, and I wanted them to refund my 80.00 and or honor their warranty reputation as my family has purchased from them as well, we trusted them. The [redacted] was trying to work with me and resolve the issue but it was [redacted] that got involved and then refused to take care of my problem. He also stated how concession financially were made for me and that is not true regarding the selling price and that is why he wont fix the car. I have all the proof on what the price was, what they did with the contracts sent to the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Bank that processed the loan for review. How do I know they did not cause the damage to the condenser since they said all it needed was freon.Desired Settlement: I have since had the cars ac repaired and I want them to at least go half with me on the repairs and refund my 80.00 dollars. I spent 350.00 to replace the condenser and can provide proof of repair.

Response:

At the time of purchase, the customer agrees that the A/C worked. He had the option to purchase an extended warranty, and declined.

He states that his miles were within the warranty time frame, although over by months.

He is referring to the used car warranty that comes standard. (I am attaching a copy.)

Please note that on the first page, it CLEARLY states that the Air Conditioner and any/all of the parts associated with it are NOT covered.

On the second page, the warranty terms for a car with his mileage (which was 78,298 at the time of sale) are 60 days or 3000 miles- WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.

Even with us not being legally responsible for the repairs in any way, we still tried to work with him because our reputation is important to us.

He states that nine months after he purchased the vehicle, when he drove the car, the A/C was still working.

When the air conditioner stopped working the following day, and he brought the car in for repairs, we were kind enough to give him a discounted rate for the refrigerant re-charge ($80). He states that the A/C worked after the re-charge, but that a few days later he was again having problems with it. He brought the car back in- we diagnosed the problem (for no charge) and advised him it would need a condenser. We even offered to deduct the previously spent $80 from the new repair bill as a good faith gesture. At the time of refrigerant re-charge, the condenser was working properly, there was no way of knowing that a few days later it would stop working.

We were trying and willing to work with him until he started making accusations that we possibly tampered or damaged the condenser intentionally. We are a family owned and operated business, our reputation is strong. We try our very best to accommodate our customers, but when a customer becomes confrontational and begins making accusations and demands, than we ask them to leave.

We have no intention on reimbursing him half the cost of repairs that he had done at another repair center.

As previously stated- The A/C worked at the time of purchase. The customer did not purchase an extended warranty. And everything we did do to assist him was done in a good faith gesture.
