Review: I purchased a pc miler navigator gps unit 13 mths ago, this unit worked great until I updated the software program(approx. 6 mths ago, at which time the gps unit will not allow me acess with out a 20 digit activation license, I have tried to call alk but each time they tell me they not have any live phone support for the pc miler units! and refer me to a email address I sent alk many emails and I have only received 2 reply's, one was on how to repair the unit myself (it did not work) and anther for me to mail the gps unit in for repair at my cost!!!.

I paid $329 plus tax for this unit because it was suppose to have free life time map updates , I could have bought a cheap unit for only $100 that had no support at all and that what I am getting from alk less than nothing.

I can not begin to tell you how unhappy I am with their level of customer support(it is a joke).

I wish to god I had never did that update because until then I was very happy with this unit, I will never ever again pay a premium for a gps unit.Desired Settlement: I either want a working replacement or a refund,I will never ever call alk again they treat the customer with indifference to say the least , once they have your money the support ENDS!!!

It appears that the customer is seeing a licensing issue with CoPilot. Being that CoPilot is pre-loaded on the device from factory, there is no way to rectify the issue except for warranty replacement. The PC*MILER Navigator products are sold with a 1-year warranty. If the issue at hand did in fact happen six months ago the customer should have contacted the PC*MILER Navigator hardware support team to have the device replaced under warranty. I would advise that the customer reach out to our PC*MILER Navigator hardware support team at [email protected] for further assistance with his PC*MILER Navigator.

Review: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: as usual alk tech. again has no human interaction and once again I am referred to an email address again this happened with in 6 mths of my purchase and the unit worked great until the update and that is where the battle began, alk knows this is a big issue with there update and they refuse to rectify the issue unless of course it is at my expense. for over 6 mths now this gps unit has been in its box and I was ready to ship it back until they wanted me to pay for their screw up not mine! I have alk tech. phone numbers and yet the sec I tell them want the issue is they simply say no support period go to this email address. again I piad a lot of money for this unit for its lifetime updates and on the VERY 1ST UPDATE the gps is rendered usless. this screen was not on the gps unit until the update! I can from the tone of alk,s email that I will get no satisfaction from them they got my money and ran , no service at all!! Regards,[redacted]

When the PC*MILER Navigator displays the screen asking for a product key code it is an indication of a corrupt licensing file. When the device is in this state, their nothing that can be done from a software perspective. The device must be replaced. Unfortunately, phone support is no longer offered for the PC*MILER Navigator products. We still offer support through email. The customer should contact our PC*MILER Navigator hardware support team at [redacted] for further assistance. They can work with the customer on replacing the device.

I am rejecting this response because: this is a totally unacceptable response and their response is they reason that all the large truck stops have removed their product from their stores, I can see from their tone that I will not get a fair out come from this company , they once they got my money all customer service ended!!!all emails I have had with them tells me to send the unit in along with my credit card info and yet they caused this issue and it is wide spend..the only way you can talk to a real person is to act like you want to another one of their products!!! other wise it is email only!
