Review: I reserved a hotel room at the Cloud 9 (Motel/Hotel though [redacted] in early august for a trip to my college reunion over Columbus Day weekend in October. When My friend and I arrived to check in, we were told the non-smoking room we had reserved over two months in advance was not available and the hotel, (and according to the clerk, all lodging in a twenty mile radius) was booked solid, and we would be placed in a smoking room or we could leave. I was very frustrated, as a lifelong non-smoker, being forced to sleep in a room that would smell like smoke, and furthermore, being told that third party booking websites (which I assume is how most of the place's booking come in) were merely a suggestion and only reservations made on their website would be honored. The room was to say the least, awful. I put in a complaint to speak with the manager, who was off over the weekend holiday, she never returned my call. The room smelled to smoke like the high heavens and the signs in the lobby advises us not to open the windows. With an open window and some ac, it was still not tolerable. We sprayed a lot of perfume to try to make the smell, and I still ended up coughing throughout the evening instead of sleeping. The room has a large brown stain (possibly mold) over a large area over the ceiling, and the bathroom clearly had must and mold around. The carpet was dingy, and the lampshades were missing light bulbs or ripped. At least the bedsheets appeared clean. The end of the hallway from our second floor room has a large wood plank nailed to the edges of the wall, where it looked from the parking lot like there used to be a window. I was coughing for well over a week.I called [redacted] to lodge a complaint, and after about 4 phone calls over the course of two weeks, the hotel management finally was available to take their call, and denied a refund for not honoring out reservation and providing us with terrible accommodations. They made no effort to apologize or rectify the situation. I have photos to share.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back for the awful hotel stay. I paid about $130.00 for a motel that was dirty, sickness-inducing, and quite disgusting. [redacted] was constantly told nobody was available to discuss the situation or authorize on the situation, as various times and days. Then finally, after a fourth call, I was contacted by [redacted] that the hotel would not honor a refund request and offered no explanation or accountability.
