Review: I have a home warranty witwh [redacted]. A few weeks ago, my clothes dryer started making a horrible thumping noise and my clothes were not drying. I contacted the warranty company, and they sent [redacted] to my home to look at my dryer. With this company, I have a $45 service fee, and with that, the dryer is to be fixed or replaced, as long as there is something broken that is covered by the warranty. [redacted] came to my home on March 11, 2013. I took him to the dryer and explained to him the problem. Without even looking at the dryer her proceeds to tell me that he knew what my problem was...and it wasn't covered by the warranty. My dryer and vents had lint in them and that once he cleaned them, the problem would be fixed. I told him it was making a horrible thumping noise and I didn't feel that could be it. He told me to trust him because he's been doing this a long time and that would fix the problem. He said he would normally charge $200 something, but he would give me a discount of $190. After questioning him repeatedly about not thinking that could be would caused my dryer to not dry clothes and sound awful, he opened the very bottom of the dryer to show me it was dirty, but would not open the dryer to further investigate if anything was broken that may have been covered under warranty until I gave him approval to clean it. Then upon opening the dryer, he says "oh, I found another problem...your blower wheel is broken." At that point, I knew this many had lied to me all along and was a thief here to take my money. He replaced the wheel, which was covered under warranty, cleaned the dryer and left. The next day having felt I was just taken advantage of, I called the warranty company to file a complaint. The warranty company agreed with me that this man did not diagnose the right problem and the cleaning was not what caused my dryer to break. This manrefused to give me some of my money back because he cleaned my dryer, but that wasn't what was brokenDesired Settlement: I asked for a partial refund because I should have only had to pay $45. As he said when I spoke to him, he cleaned my dryer and that's what I asked him to do. That isn't true..he was there to FIX my dryer....which was the broken blower wheel..covered under warranty! Had he opened the dryer and investigated it first, he would have found the problem and I wouldn't have paid him $190 to clean it. But he was dishonest refusing to look for problem before I consented to pay him to clean it.
