On 11/1/19, I ordered over $2,100 of product offered on the business website for All About the Hobby ***. The product was being pre-sold and wouldn't be live until February 2020. I paid in full and patiently waited until the product released.
On 2/13/20 the business updates their *** page that the product is en route and will be received by the weekend. Several days pass and I receive no updates or shipping confirmation. I attempt to email, call, leave voicemail, and *** comment on the business page seeking an update, but all go with no response.
Days later, the business updates their *** page stating the product was received, but it was damaged. I still had received no contact from the business. It is important to note that the market value of the product had nearly tripled between my order date and the release date.
I continued to receive a response from the business with no success. I commented questions on one of the business's *** posts concerning the product, but it was ignored and ultimately deleted.
In early March, after continued attempted contact, the business owner answered one of my phone calls. I attempted to ask about my order, but he stated he "wasn't near a computer" and couldn't answer any specific questions. He advised me to send him an email with my order info (which had already been done multiple times) and he would issue a refund while also providing the opportunity to purchase the product at the agreed upon price "if" he receives it.
As advised, I send the email the same day and receive no response for several days. Finally, I felt I had no other choice than to file a credit card dispute for the purchase.
Please Note - I prefer to receive the product as opposed to a refund. The business provided proof the product was received, but never sent it (again, the market value is significantly higher now than the original order date/price). He is essentially forcing me to sell-back the product after the value has tripled.
The consumer received a refund back to his card.
