I took my 1978 Corvette to them to have it checked for repairs I specifically told the mechanic I don't want any comebacks to check everything Vacuum check and a fuel pressure check which he never did. He called me later in the day said it needed a new Carburetor I picked up the car and the very next day I had to come back it was not running right ( I told him no comebacks ) he tested the fuel system while I was there said it now needed a new fuel pump I said why didn't you find that when you had the car which I said put one on. 3 days later I came back still not running now I'm really upset he kept the car called me back later that day now says I have an intake manifold leak the gasket needs replaced and a new fan clutch this was the third time I took my car back I came and got my car without the repairs done didn't trust him anymore I spent $868.14 the first time and $324,19 the second and the car still doesn't run I feel I taken advantage of. I think he was just out for the money and when I complain he yelled at me said it was my fault come get your car I finely found out who the owner was and I called him it seem to me he didn't much care. I won't be going back and now the word is out what kind of repair shop he is.Desired SettlementI think he needs to give me some of my money back at least the labor part. All I asked them to do was find ALL the problems the first time and fix I wouldn't be filing a complaint.Business Response To whom it may concern-I am writing on behalf of All American Auto & Diesel LLP with regards to [redacted] filed complaint. I believe he has misrepresented his complaint and left out several other issues and details pertaining to the repair of his 1978 Corvette. On [redacted] first visit to our business was May 27, 2015. This was for the repair of a broken exhaust header stud on the drivers side header and an intermittent stalling issue when coming to a stop. We first repaired the header leaks. The second complaint of stalling when the vehicle came to a stop was repaired with a new carburetor which we installed and adjusted. The carburetor was previously repaired at [redacted], also located in [redacted]. They had tried to replace the needles and seats in the carb. After their repair, the carburetor still had an issue with seats leaking when coming off throttle, and this caused the engine to flood out. By restricting the fuel to the carb the vehicle would start again. With the new carb installed and adjusted, [redacted] test drove his vehicle to [redacted] Lake (roughly 40 miles round trip). He returned and had no issues with the way his vehicle ran. He was actually quite happy with his vehicle remarking he drove it "over 100 mph up the grade to [redacted]". Both repairs were completed as part of his initial $868.14 repair.[redacted] second time in our shop took place on June 12, 2015. He had a complaint of the engine cutting out and losing power under load. I performed diagnosis of the vehicle for the customer complaint. I found the fuel pump losing prime. I also found the right side engine mount bolt was too long; being pushed into the side of the fuel pump which had damaged the housing. [redacted] had mentioned having to get his money back from Pro Tech Automotive, also located in [redacted] for not fixing his vehicle properly. They had replaced all mounts and resealed the engine. We agreed to replace the fuel pump and replace the bolt in the right engine mount. This repair in total was $344.63. The Corvette ran great, that is until [redacted] drove his vehicle to [redacted] a few weeks after the repair.[redacted] came in to see us a third time after he drove to [redacted] with the air conditioning on and traveling at 45 mph. He said "the engine was overheating and got to temps of 260 degrees." I offered to check out the overheating issue. It was a failed fan clutch causing it to get hot. At no time during his drive up the climb to [redacted] did he think to pull over and let the vehicle cool down, or even turn off the air conditioning. [redacted] demanded that this repair be done for free believing incorrectly that it had to do with the previous two repairs we had performed. Our shop refused to replace the fan clutch and reseal his oil leaks that were caused by the overheat condition for free. After we refused to perform this repair for free he became irate and threatened to report to the Revdex.com, and here we are. In the time we have been open, [redacted] has been our only customer that we have had complain; be it to this level or on a minor scale. I have a feeling [redacted] has made this his routine, filing complaints with various shops in our community. Both repairs that All American Auto & Diesel LLP performed were agreed to by the customer and shop beforehand. We have the repair invoices which we would be happy to fax to you if needed. If you have any questions or concerns relating to this manner please feel free to contact me via the business phone number or email listed below.Thank You[redacted]All American Auto & Diesel LLPCo-Owner/TechnicianP - (775) 782-4802[redacted]
