I had a wonderful experience with AADR Yes, it was a long process but I looked at this as an organization that wanted the best fit for their babies I would love to adopt again and would be thrilled to do it through this group

I adopted a Dachshund in May 2016, everything worked outDecided to get another in August This just didn't work out When president called me about returning the dog, she was very nasty She called me ugly and a terrible person She also called me a liar Very unprofessional

It is a very unfortunate thing that an organization capable of doing so much good - and in control of much of the region's dachshund adoption - has such a hateful, unreasonable figure guiding it
Me and my wife went through the process of adopting a cute little senior dachshundWe met all the requirements, including having plenty of experience with dogs, including another dachshund that I would die forWe met the foster mother, were interviewed by her and we exchanged pictures, so everything was going great
Nearing the end, when we were already in love with the dog and preparing everything for his arrival, *** ***, the founder and president of the organization, left us a cryptic voice mail saying we couldn't adopt with them anymorePuzzled, I contacted her and, in the most rude, hateful manner, she proceeded to scold us on the phone for being youngYes, your read that rightIn this old woman's logic, our youth (and years old) excludes us from adopting because if we have kids, according to her, we'll kick the dog to the curb and let him die
It was as ridiculous as it soundsWe tried a million ways to make her understand that we weren't planning on having kids, ever, and even if that was the case, we would never do such a thingBut she treated us as if we had already abandoned a dog or something
To add insult to injury, our multiple attempts to reach to the organization were met with mostly silence and no decent reasons whatsoeverThis was a traumatic experience to say the least and we are not the first onesI'm sorry for the doxies, but please try any other adoption agency out thereAll American Dachshund is not a good place and it is run by an evil witch
