Having found my own profile listed on All American Speakers Bureau's website but having no business arrangement set up with the corporation, I emailed with an inquiry to potentially schedule myself for a speaking date. This is what I was given:Hello,I hope you're doing well today.My colleague [redacted] let me know that you're interested in booking [redacted] for an upcoming event on December 1 or 2.Unfortunately, [redacted] is not available for those dates.If you are open to other suggestions, please let me know, and I'll be happy to assist.Kind Regards,[redacted]All American Entertainment(XXX) XXX-XXXX (p)I called Ms. [redacted] for further details, to which she stated she had spoken to me directly and that I was booked until Christmas on a speaking tour. I am sorry to hear about the negative interaction you recently had with our company. All American has been in business since 2002 and this year alone we will have successfully arranged more than 500 speaking engagements. We are a buyer's agent and exclusively represent organizations that seek to hire speakers for paid engagements. We do not represent any speakers. Our website is designed as a resource for our clients to learn about interesting people who they may have interest inviting to their events. We maintain a comprehensive internal database of over 50,000 thought leaders, authors, experts and prospective speakers used internally by our agents. The profiles themselves actually come from a number of sources. Approximately 50 profiles are added each week from speakers who submit themselves, some are dynamically generated from curated lists of conference speakers, authors and other trending topics of the day. I have personally looked into your situation and would like to apologize to you for two reasons. First, your profile should not have been displayed on our public website without your permission. Our website is built using the same shared database and I learned there was a bug which resulted in a number of profiles from our internal database being displayed publicly. This has since been fixed. I have also spoken to Ms. [redacted] regarding her email and subsequent conversation with you. She explained to me that after receiving your request and reviewing the information we had in our internal database, she determined that your profile should not have been listed on our site and that it did not appear that you would be open to or interested in public speaking. She promptly removed your profile from both our public website and private database. However, I do not condone that she would make blatantly false statements about your lack of availability or having spoken to you. She should have be upfront with you and explained exactly what had occurred. I assure you that this is being handled internally. I apologize for her actions and I assure you that this is not representative of our company.
