Buying my first new home, I had to put in landscaping I contacted All American Landscape as it was on the list of landscapers provided from my home builderThe landscaper understood that I didn't want to go overboard with the landscaping cost, but I could have definitely done some giving and taking to make everything work for mePlease read
After I signed my landscape contract, the landscaper (***) I feel, walked all over me and did not listen to what I wanted I do not have experience with landscaping, so I was trusting him to do a good job but I did have certain specifics on what I was and was not looking for, and not only did he not come through, he did what he wanted For example, I was very specific on the coloring of the rocks (NO PINKISH) and what did I get...PINKISH He placed part of the rocks one day and was coming back to finish the rest on a later date When I saw what rocks he placed, I immediately emailed him to let him know please do not place the rest of the rocks because I do not like them He ignored my email and placed the rocks anyway Later he tried to sugar coat the rock situation by telling me that I will like the rocks better once the plants/tress are placed in springThe breezeway that was placed consisted of tiny ground up rock Not knowing what to expect, he placed the pathway materials I was upset as I have two big dogs and the material gets stuck in their paws which they have brought in the house and scratched up my new wood floors Since I don't have experience with this material and he does, a mention about the possibility of what this may do to my floors having dogs would have been nice before he placed the materialsI then could have had the opportunity to find another option Again, I was trusting him and I feel he took advantage of this and meI have also asked for a detailed invoice on several occasions which has yet to be provided to meI also did not get all the plants that I requested There were specific plants/tress that I asked for and I got alternate plants instead
In March, before the plants were placed, we met at the nursery to look at "sticks" He wanted me to see what plants/trees will be in my yard, and since it had not warmed up yet, the only image I got was a bunch of sticks This meeting should have taken place in the late summer/early fall before the trees lost their leaves and I could have gotten a good visual of each plant/tree I also requested from him some information on how to care for the plants/tress; he told me to "look it up on the Internet" After the nursery visit, he said that he would come back in a couple of weeks to begin planting and that is when we had all that cold weather I never heard from him and about weeks later, I came home to my yard dug up with bright orange contraction cones in my yard There was no communication from him that he was going to begin planting and a common curtesy would be a phone call the day before to let me know that they will begin the planting process Again, I feel that he could do what he wanted to walk all over me and not provide proper communication
When placing the plants this spring, he told me in writing (email) that I had a cracked back flow device and I had to THAT DAY OR THE NEXT (never mind that I work), immediately get a plumber out to my house to fix this and he will not proceed until it's fixed He continued to threaten me in an email saying the my plants warranty's will be void if the irrigation system is not working The individual that came to repair the device, said it wasn't even the back flow device that was not working He also said that there was no reason that the landscape company could not have finished the job The device was completely functional I have kept my end of the contract up by providing a working irrigation system, he just choose to ignore that and give me a hard time I am way over my deadline for the HOA and I don't even have the sod placed in my yard
Looking at my rocks now, apparently there was also no weed meshing placed before the rocks were placed and I have a complete weed fest in my yard This is something that should have been discussed with me if they put this protection down, the price if additional, and if I didn't have this placed, what I should expect Again, just another example of me feeling like I have been taken advantage of I am a single mother and I feel I have been completely bullied and walked all over for all these reasons and then some Buyer BEWARE especially if you are a single woman!
