All Around Comfort Reviews (%countItem)

I contacted All Around Comfort to fix an issue with air conditioner at my rental property. Dean C came to my property and diagnosed the issue, quoting price of $1500. I was not prepared to pay that amount of money so I declined his offer and went with someone else who said they could repair for much less money.

A few weeks later, tenant informed me that AC stopped working. I called another company to take a look and they said they’d charge more than All Around Comfort to fix issue. I decided to find the money needed to repair and called Dean for help. He said he could come the next day and that he required a $750 deposit. I promptly paid deposit and expected him the next day.

On Saturday morning, he said the part he needed was in Frederick, MD . I assumed he’d get part and head to unit to complete job. My tenant asked later if he was still coming. I said that I thought he was. When I talked to him, he said since Frederick, MD was 2.5 hours away, so he would not be able to get the part until Monday when it was available in Landover. I was skeptical, since I knew Frederick, MD was not 2.5 hours away. But I just assumed he didn’t want to work on a weekend and let it go, which was my first clue there was something wrong.

I wanted to know the time window he would be able to come fix issue, and after a few unanswered texts, he told me he had not been responding because he was at a bday party and could come after 12 on Monday. He further stated that he would have to contact me Sunday to nail down a time. On Sunday, I reached out to him 2 times to nail down a time. I never heard from him, so was not able to let my tenants know what time he would be arriving.

On Monday, the day the work was to be done, I contacted him at least 10 times to ask if he was coming and what time. I even asked my tenant to contact him, thinking he would answer a call other than my own. During this time, I searched his company on State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) website and found out that his business was not in good standing. I searched yelp and thumbtack (the source I initially used to contact him) and found that he was no longer active. I began to think I was bamboozled out of $750 and decided to contact a company that I knew was reputable to complete work with AC and would deal with getting my money back from All Around Comfort a later date, since my tenant was getting anxious to get air fixed before another heat wave.

At 5pm, my tenant texted me to say that he was at the house. I asked her what happened to him and she said that he told me 5:00. He never told me anything. Then, I get a call from a 410 number, it was Dean acting like nothing just happened. He told me he needed to cut into my drywall to fix a pipe and would not be able to fix AC until this was done. I asked about his number, since he already had $750 and I wanted to be sure I could get in contact with him. He said its not his job to call and confirm and said his phone number hadn’t changed. I gave him the number I’d been contacting and instead of a professional response, he grunted and very rudely said “do you want me to cut this drywall or not”. Obviously, after being ignored for 2 days, finding out that his company is not in good standing and his unprofessional behavior, I decided NOT to use his services. I requested my deposit back and he said I owed him money and that he’d take this to court and hung up.

Mr. C was clearly unprofessional and I would like my $750 deposit refunded.

From: Dean <>Date: Sun, Jun 23, 2019 at 10:24 AMSubject: complaint ***To: ***@myRevdex.com.org <***@myRevdex.com.org>Hello, in regards to the complaint ***. We serviced the home and have documentation, a witness and pictures to verify the work was being done. We recovered the existing refrigerant, pressure tested the system with 300lb of nitrogen. This was done to ensure no other leaks are present. At which time one was heard in the basement wall. *** was notified that a leak was located within a wall and given a location within 3-6” area. We never quoted a price, we actually stated there was no charge for the cutting of drywall and had to see the leak physically. At this time *** stated she wasn’t going to pay for anything and for us not to do the work. We complied by removing the nitrogen, vacuuming the system down and adding the refrigerant to working condition. We actually had to use new refrigerant and started the system back up. We stated the part she purchased would be shipped to her and what is the address, being this was a tenant property. *** has an outstanding bill for work preformed upto the request to stop work. She has requested we not contact her and that she will not pay for anything. We do have documentation, a witness (tenant), and pictures to verify the work completed. Please notify us as to where we may send these for review. Thank you for your assistance.

Respectfully,

Dean C

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

It is full of false information. *** never told me he did any work. He just got annoyed when I asked him about his phone number, then hung up on me.

He called me 15 minutes after getting to the property, and said in order to do work he would need to cut into the wall and needed my approval. He never stated that there would not be a charge for cutting the wall, if there was a charge, I would not have had a problem with that.

My main issue was that he was unresponsive (I must have sent him 10 messages and called a dozen times) after receiving $750 deposit and that he showed up without letting me know when he would be there. He claimed he told me he would be there at 5, this was a lie. He also lied about his phone number. He said it hadn't changed, which it obviously did. I just didn't understand how he could go missing in action after I paid him a $750 deposit. By the time he decided to show up, unannounced, I had already contacted another reliable contractor to do the work since I did not want my tenant to go much longer without AC. I figured I would not hear from *** again. When he finally called, from an unknown number and continuously lied to me for no reason, I decided I no longer wanted to work with someone who was not reliable or trustworthy, so I asked for my deposit back. He did not deserve my business. I have never done business with such an unprofessional contractor, and I have used alot of them.

He did not show me any pictures of the work he supposedly did, and I cant imagine the work he did totaled the $750 that I gave him for a deposit. He was there for maybe 15 minutes. He made it seem like he would not be able to do the work until he cut the wall, so I assumed no work had been done. Also, the unit was definitely not in 'working condition' when he left, as he claims in the response.

Regards

All Around Comfort/Dean C, a HVAC service provider, provides the worst service to his client:

1) He promised to install a 4-ton AC system but instead installed a 3.5-ton AC system.

2) The HVAC system that he installed does not provide cooling at all. After repeating requests to come back to fix AC issue, he showed up in several weeks later. He asked for additional money to turn on cooling, but the AC system stopped working in several weeks again. Then he refused to come back to fix my AC system.

3) We went out of town several weeks last summer. When we came home, we found out the AC system stopped working. Dean C refused to fix cooling for me. Many household items were molded and damaged because there were no cooling in my house last summer.
