All Around Property Preservation Reviews (%countItem)

I hired All Around to replace my roof after receiving storm damage. James did a good job explaining the whole process that would take place in great detail and answered any questions I had during the process. I was very impressed with quality of work they did including the follow-up inspection after the job was complete. They ensured that everything was put back in place and cleaned the work area around my house thoroughly.

My experience with All Around for storm damage recovery was an excellent experience and exactly how I prefer to do business with a company. I chose All Around because of their catchy radio advertisement that they claim to be no hassle, no bull on their advertised product. I also did some background research on the company. I made a good choice! My assigned project manager Kyle was always on time and responsive to whatever I needed. The other All Around support staff were very assessable and helpful as well with my inquiries and needs.
My project went smooth and on time. The completed work looks great. Project manager Kyle and All Around handled all the details with the insurance claim, set up scheduling --all of it!!! After all was said and done I am left with a feeling of trust that my project manager and All Around got me covered and will be quick to respond to any needs I may have with this completed project. All Around will be the first call for any future roof, siding, or gutter needs.

Projected fall 2018

All Around has helped me with a number of projects over the years. New roofs on rental properties, new siding, a deck, a variety of larger projects. With each exterior job, I was so pleased with the quality of work and impressed with the company itself. Charles *** and Nick *** are two outstanding people. They genuinely care about each of their clients, their employees, and the amount of referrals they generate from pleased past clients is fantastic. I can not recommend them highly enough for any and all exterior projects. Their pricing is honest, fair, and transparent. And the work is always done times. Thank you All Around for you awesome work for me over so many years now.

I needed some work done on my house. It started with a smaller project replacing siding on my chimney, rebuilding some deck steps, replacing shingles over my garage and replacing deck railing. This last August (2018) they asked for a $2000 downpayment to kick off the project, which I paid. Over the next several months the scope of the project changed to replacing all my siding, plus rebuilding the deck steps and replacing the deck rail. At this point I had another contractor quote the siding since it was now a much bigger project and I thought I should at least get another quote. Turns out All Around was much higher cost and their terms were much less favorable. I gave All Around the opportunity to meet the price and terms but they couldn't or wouldn't. I then informed them that I was going with the other contractor to do the siding. At this point All Around said they would need to requote the deck work since they said they gave me a package price. At this point I said it was maybe better we go our separate ways and asked for my $2000 back. They said the contract said they could bill me a 25% cancellation fee according to the document I signed. I offered to let them keep $500 to offset any investment on their end, they declined and said I was lucky they weren't enforcing the 25% cancellation fee. At this point no work has been done and no materials have been bought at it's still about 4-5 months before they were even going to start the work.

All Around Property Preservation Response • Dec 17, 2018

We made multiple site visits to this property during the estimating process of this job. After working with the customer through this process we came to an agreement and signed a contract for the specified scope of work. After the contract was signed we completed the investigation work that was needed and a part of the work scope. This required 2 people on site, accessing a difficult roof and attic space in order to visually inspect the interior of the chimney chase. The customer decided to add work to the scope, we priced this work out and we informed another estimate came in slightly lower and we were asked to lower our price to meet the other estimate. We agreed to do so and the customer then informed us they want to cancel the entire contract with us. A part of the contract was the cancellation process, which would require the customer to pay a 25% cancellation fee. The signed contract is attached. We wanted to be fair and only charged a reduced rate that we felt was a fair reflection of the amount of work and time invested. We have not done anything wrong here and are simply sticking to the agreement we entered with this customer. We would be happy to move forward with the project, if the customer chooses to do so.

Customer Response • Dec 18, 2018

I am rejecting this response because:Yes, they eventually met the price, but not the terms of the other quote, meaning they wanted much more money down on a project that was 6 months or so down the road. If they would have met the terms too I would have moved forward with them. Yes, they had a guy come to the house that went up in the attic and on the roof, spent maybe an hour at the house. This they did because they originally estimated the chimney work alone at $15,000 to $20,000 which seemed really expensive. They discovered, because of the onsite visit, it would cost much less. What would have happened if the guy didn't come out? Would they have charged me much less? I guess we'll never know. At the end of the day I'm getting all the siding replaced, including the chimney, replacing the fascia and soffits, for $41,000. At this point I felt like I was being taken advantage of, but, nonetheless I gave All Around the opportunity to match the other bidders price and terms. Like I said, they met the price, but not the terms, after much back and forth. Again, this did not give me the feeling they were giving me a fair deal since I had to press them for everything. Also, All Around's initial price for the work didn't include dumpster or permit costs, the other contractor's price did. And, All Around, per the quote, assumed no liability for any damage caused by having a dumpster delivered to my house, or, any damage to the landscaping. The other contractor did assume all responsibility. So, at the end of the day I just felt the other contractor was more customer friendly. And, along the way, I informed them that it was now really 2 jobs, siding, soffits, and fascia, plus the deck work. They understood this and agreed it would be wise to get another quote, so this was no surprise. When I told them I was going with the other contractor, because of the terms, but said I still wanted the deck work done and was willing to give them this piece of the work, they said they'd have to requote the deck. My feeling was they were upset they didn't win the siding portion of the work so they were going to jack up the price of the deck to force me to back out all together in order to keep my down payment. It all just seems unprofessional to me. Why would a company want to keep $2000 when they did no work? I did offer to let them keep $500 to offset the couple visits to my house (the other visit a guy came over to pick up a paint sample), which seemed fair to me. You know, an ordinary consumer like me doesn't have much experience with big projects like this, I'm 62 years old and have never replaced siding on any of my houses so I was learning as I went. I felt, worse case, that even if All Around didn't get the siding work the $2000 I put down could be applied to the deck work I wanted done, but since they wouldn't do it for the price quoted, I was really stuck. Lastly, I asked the other contractor what would happen to my deposit if I backed out before any work was done, without hesitation they said they'd refund 100% of the deposit, no questions asked. They said they make their money doing the work, plain and simple. I don't know about you folks at the Revdex.com, but I have never in my life got something for nothing, I've had to earn everything. So again, a couple "extra" trips to house does not justify $2000, it feels more like sour grapes to me.

Craig *** responded to a call I made with a non-pushy, helpful response to a problem with a leaky roof. The problem was arrested. When it came time to replace the roof (a year later), I remembered his kindness and on-site professionalism. What I expected to be a convoluted procedure involving an engagement with my insurance provider turned out to be a clean and pleasant experience. The new roof is a pleasure to behold! I have no doubts that I will be contacting Craig and All Around for any future work for the exterior of my home. Thanks, All Around, for your compassion and diligence to this anxious home owner.
