Review: Called company to provide service for a Sub Zero refrigerator which began registering too high an inner temperature. Service tech came ($75 charge +tax--OK) and gave us assessment and said someone from company would call with an estimate. Several hours later, a representative from company called and gave us a price (excluding parts which were still under limited warranty) of $1,495.50 which consisted of, per their breakdown, parts not covered under warranty of $371, shipping of parts $42 , tax of $97.69 and LABOR of $984.81 less an advertising coupon for $100 and less the original service call charge of $80.20 ($75+tax). The net amount would be $1,412.99. The company spokeswoman said explicitly that the labor was predicated upon a rate of $180/hour (which we thought was extremely excessive...but agreed to). She said the job would entail 4-5 hours of tech time to affect the necessary repairs. The next day, the tech came with the parts necessary and before he began work, we asked him how long he would be there working...He said explicitly 4-5 hours. We kept tract of his time. He arrived at 10:15AM and worked until 11:30AM when he said he had to "get something". He didn't appear again until 1:40Pm and finished up (as noted on the time stamped Visa receipt in our possession) at 3:22PM. His total time servicing our product was, in fact, only 3 hours (which included two telephone calls, one of which was personal as we could hear).

I called the company to complain about this OVERCHARGE on labor and spoke to the manager ([redacted]) and explained that given an hourly rate of $180, the total labor cost should have been in the area (pre-tax) of $540 instead of the $985. She explained that they charge everyone the same amount because most of this type of job takes that long and that our tech did it quicker than anyone else had ever done it. We requested a credit on our card and she blatently refused. We said it should state a "flat rate" vs.an hourly rate, FALSE AND DECEITFUL ADV.Desired Settlement: Wish to be credited back for 2 unused hours of labor at the rate of $180/hour . Two employees of the company each unequivacally stated that the billing was based upon 4-5 hours of labor which was

deceitful, untruthful and appears to be unlawful advertising.

Review: I called all bergen applicance back in early november for a repair of a GE washing machine. I was charged about $80 for them to look. A day or so later they contacted me to tell me I needed a part that cost over $500 and I should just get a new machine.

I then called GE and they came out and found a cracked plastic clutch assembly that cost about $58 - the total repair from GE including the part was $254 dollars.

I then called All bergen to request my $80 back because they either lied to me or misdiagnosed the issue - surely not worth $80 to come out and tell my my washing machine was not worth fixing.Desired Settlement: I would like my $80 back since they did not at all do the job that was expected of them. I have phoned and emailed them several times and sent them the picture of the broken part that was found and a picture of the GE receipt as proof. They have told me they would refund me and I have the email from them stating that they would. They have yet to refund me.

Sure. this is an easy one. We get lots of calls during the day with customers asking for me, the owner. We did get an email from Mr. [redacted] that I responded to saying that we will give him a refund. We wouldn't be in business all these years if we were out there taking money from customers without doing successful repairs.. Here's a copy of it in case he didn't see it. I will see if the check was processed and if it wasn't I will make sure it goes out today.
