Review: On October 31, 2009, a technician named ** came to my residence in Washington, D.C. The technician came to my residence to see if he could tell me what was wrong with my TAPPAN Double-Oven. When I requested for someone to come out to my home, I told the company (ABS) All Brand Services that my oven was at least 20 years old and the company went on to say how they can work on any appliance, how they have the best technicians, etc.When the technician knocked on my front door, he wouldnt even show me his identification (ID), he said that he does not show his ID to anyone. He holds up a small stack of papers from (ABS) showing that he may have possibly been to other residence on a service call.I let the technician enter my home and I take him to my kitchen to check out my oven. Boy, did he strike me as being brand new, no real experience at all. He didnt even suggest pulling out the oven to look for the serial number. Once I suggested for him to pull out the oven to see if there was any information he could gather, he wrote down the first number that he saw on a diagram, #[redacted]. He wasnt even sure what the problem was, I suggested the thermostat for the bottom oven and told him that the hinge on the top oven door was not working. He wrote down exactly what I said. He had no clue what was wrong. The technician wasnt even old enough to probably know about any ovens older than ten or twelve years old.Once the technician filled out the paperwork, he asked me for the $50.00 fee for coming out on the service call. I was told that once the estimate was decided upon by (ABS), within 1-2 days, they would then contact me (the customer) with a price and the $50.00 cash payment I made to the technician would go towards the repair.A week had gone by so I contacted (ABS). No estimate. No one ever got back in touch with me. I believe that since I had not heard back from (ABS) no one had any idea of what was wrong with my oven and no one called to offer me my money back since there was not estimate and no further contact was made with me (the customer).I now feel like I have been ripped-off of $50.00. How can you help me get my money back?
