All Brands Appliance Repair Reviews (3)

I called all brand appliance because my washing machine was not working. I asked how much would it cost to have someone come out and look at it. they said $69.95 so I made appointment. Technician found the problem, gave me a quote and okayed priced. he fixed machine and paid him without looking at receipt. when he left I looked over receipt and that company charges $69.95 just to some to your house. and then they charge a diagnostic fee also. that is a trick. when I asked what it would cost for some one to come look at machine I should have been told about the diagnostic fee. the total of both charges = $99.95 and I could buy a new washer for $500.00 had they told 100 dollars to come look at it I would have turned them down. when I paid for someone to come out I fully expected he would diagnose the problem for that $69.95 fee. Very sneaky and underhanded way to run a business if you ask me. I will never recommend them to anyone I know. because that $69,95 service call price is just a lie and they know it. It may be legal but it is still a lie. When I complained they told me that diagnoses was not discussed so they had right to charge me that extra $30.00 I hope other people read this before they get tricked into paying that extra $30.00 like I did.

Review: I called All Brand to come out and fix my wash machine. They promptly came out. The repair man was helpful and professionsl.. However, he stated that the machine may need either a rebuild or entirely new motor. He quoted a price for each. Upon inspection, he uncovered things clogged in the washer motor and cleaned out the things (coins, hair pins, etc). He then ran water through and finished up. Thus, he basically cleaned out junk/removed articles obstructing a piece that caused the machine to not drain. He was at my house for about 25-30 minutes. The trip charge was about $70. He charged me about $170 more because he told me this was a rebuild. My understanding of a rebuild is when something is taken apaprt and reconstructed (usually with new or differenct pieces). This did not happen as it was simply cleaned out. I feel that the company misprepresented themselves in this fashion. He never stated that the minimum charge would be $170 plus the trip charge. He stated a rebuild would be $170 and a new motor would be about $280. I believe he should have stated that "at the very least the charge would be $170." And that "cleaning out" the piece would constitute a "rebuild." they did send me $20 because I complained. However, no new parts were added to the machine -- so I was charged $170 (plus the trip charge) for 30 minutes of labor. Most attorneys do not get a rate of $340 per hour for their time, so I am not sure why this company feels it can charge these prices without a single piece of new equipment. What a shame.Desired Settlement: A promise to be more forthcoming in what the minumum charges wiill be as well as addtional reimbursement. The $70 trip charge was expected and explained. Another $70 or so for the 30 minutes of labor (thus $140 per hour) seems very reasonable. I paid $238 less the $20 refund. Therefore, another $75 refund seems reasonable.

Response:

In response to your letter of February 11,2014, Mr. [redacted]'s washing machine

was not working before our technician arrived at his home. It is now in fun

operational order after our technician serviced his machine.

Without continuing the endless he said, she said, they said; Mr. [redacted] agreed

during a telephone conversation, to a full and final settlement

We have reasonably attempted reconciliation of the customer's perceived

complaint Our company has, in good faith, fulfilled the settled agreement.

Therefore we consider the matter closed.

I had a service technician from All Brand come to the house to look at a dryer. The dryer had been tripping the circuit. On the phone I was told that the cost to have a technician come out and diagnose the problem would be $49.95. When the technician, [redacted], came, he took the back off of the dryer, ran it for a few minutes, and then told me it would be $170.00 to fix the dryer plus $40.00 for the diagnosis. He stated that he knew the wiring was bad after doing an amperage test. I found that funny, because he never once took the volt/amp meter out of his tool kit. When I questioned him on this and the fact that I was specifically told that the $49 trip charge included diagnosing the problem, he became rude/argumentative to the point where I had to ask him to leave. He wrote up a bill for $93.00 and continued to argue that there was no possible way I was right about the price I was quoted. I paid the bill. Then, a week later I called back to double check what it would cost to have someone come out and diagnose a problem with the dryer. Again, I was told that the $49.95 included diagnosis. This business is horrible. Do not trust them. They are the type of business that Dateline specials have busted in the past.
